Wouldn’t it be amazing to give an Orgyn a different weapon to go with the shield, like the knife or shovel? Something other than just a club?

Brute Shield with activateable Power Maul and faster movesets (as the shield is smaller and therefore lighter I guess) would be nice, too.
Could be in the same weapon family as the current slap shield.
And yes: both variants to go with GG same as Tabletop-options:
Lights with the GG, Heavies with the shields, Special goes boom (but bigger and faster, as obviously it would loose it’s ranged option, as it would need to be the block option) OR:
Keep the ranged and make the weapon special the meelee block…

shifting the heavy pattern away from the shield and to the main hand weapon would do the trick already.
what hampers the shield right now is the useless light attack that makes the club feel like a wet noodle hence people skip to the heavy attacks.
another thing is both heavies having different damage output, so skipping is even more advised.
options would be a great thing though, knife, axe etc. with different speed to their respective movement patterns.
gauntlet although accurate could be a balance issue.
deal ranged damage while being shielded from taking yourself, i dunno 
yes you can switch between melee and ranged fast, but rising an already equipped one might be a tad too fast.
would have to playtest first

That’s why I wouldn’t allow the ranged attack, just meelee for lights and the special with a bigger boom to be worth it.
OR have it in the ranged department where the GG would work as current, but special wouldn’t be the boom-punch but a “normal” block

like i said, it’d be interesting for playtesting though i doubt fatshark will open servers for that.
shield planting can go for all i care, noob trap if i ever saw one.
and that one daemon host taunting thingie is obsolete since last power creep.
floaty btch is doable (still a nuisance) regardless

I wish the block cost was less focused on the plant. You can’t really block a lot normally with it, suffering more from Ogg’s slow stamina regen than anything. But you can use the plant like a slower and more infinite block with knockback immunity. It certainly can be used, its just not interesting at all and they kinda hindered the logical use of the shield to accommodate it.
Actually a shield with less restricted movement and better blocking would be fine by me as well…

oh i played (and enjoyed) shield for quite some time.
but as with every weapon category, its a chicken/egg conondrum, this time created by the shields slow time to kill.
that way enemies tend to pile up in front of you wheres the more offensive weaponry like club or pickaxe gets stuff dead before it can push you into a corner.
i remember one throneside match where the plant gave me enough time for bullrush to recharge and get out of the pounding, well a bot helped after getting flames under my 4ss, but only held out that long due to the plant.
that was me last ogryn standing mind you and one dude left, hence the bot.
anyways, that was long before pickaxe was a thing and in the meantime (i like to believe) i upped my game as well, so nowadays i dive into 10 ragers like they’re breakfast and kill em pretty quick.
other than that, plant followed the always same: “beat the witch?”…“sure, you tank?”… “gotcha”
the majority of wrong uses stand vigil in the final halway of smelter complex “protecting” the little uns from enemies that run past poor oggy and still swarm the punies.

Imagine how glorious a 2 handed shield would be. The ultimate ogryn weapon is just pancaking some heretic with a giant slab of metal!

This is great! Sounds very fun!
I’d personally love a Ripper combo and a Knife combo, but Power Maul and Grenade Gauntlet might be more appropriate since the bullgryn does actually get those.
