Options resetting to default every time

Everytime i launch the game the options are set to default. I have seen threads of people in the past talking about this, and the solution usually disabling read-only on user_settings.config. however, it was already disabled.
In addition, everytime i try to launch the game, the launcher opens the “hardware detected” pop up. I asked my friends who also play the game and it only appeared the first time they launched the game, while for me it’s every time.
I have a RX 570 and a Ryzen 7 3800X 8core. I play on PC through the XBOX app.

Steps to Reproduce (Required):

  1. Open launcher game from XBOX app.
  2. Hardware detected pop up pops up.
  3. Open game
  4. change settings.
  5. close game.
  6. Open launcher.
  7. Hardware detected pop up pops up.
  8. Open game.
  9. the previous changes i made to the settings are gone.

Figured it out. In appdata there was a fatshark/darktide folder, with the settings file. but the game wasn’t using that folder, it was using fatshark/microsoftstore/darktide. disabled read-only on user_settings.config there and it worked. How do i close this thread?
