One week premium shop rotation

Man this is so karking wrong. You can’t believe this. It kinda invalidates all your arguments. And i really thought you were reasonable.

I was on this game from beta stage and even then rng was one of the MAIN reasons people left. Countless posts on both official and steam forums trashing the horrible rng system. Also many friends of mine - veterans from V1 - got sick of this and moved on to other games.

So if a horrible system pushes players out isn’t it loss of money? Why these many players who got sick by the atrocious rng itemization and crafting should invest on real money shop especially after having bought DT on full price?

Difficulty wasn’t and will never be an issue. All tide games are ez when you get to know the mechanics. It’s all about getting experienced. And even if you are a thicchead or an extreme turist you can always have fun on lower diffs.

I also think FS execs have no clue or are experimenting on what their playerbase wants for them to get more money.

Ofc after some time they manage to fix their sh*t and even improve it like they did with their Itemization update which is a huge boon. Like they’ve done many times on all three tides game. And i think a little “whining” on official and steam forums is needed for all this to happen.

I can see that you are not interested in discussing this. So I’ve reported you and let’s leave it at that.

Mods are great…

I actually have seen what are in the fatshark stock… let’s say it, recolors are part of the fiesta (and plenty). There’s still 2 cosmetics that I will wait and surely buy.
2 recolors interest me cause… well the initial color is not good for one and the second is that I would like to have both colors.
In an ideal world I would buy the color and apply it… I don’t know if I will take recolors.

But, from what I saw, at one rotation every 3 weeks (am I correct?) I have few chances to see the 2 cosmetics I want before a long long time…

I disagree. But feel free to gather up all the players who left and get their opinion on the matter. Meanwhile, if you look at the Steam Charts for all 3 tide-games, the pattern is clear. Start off with 5-digit player base, close to 100k. By the third month they are all down to 10k and lower, continuing downwards.

How do you explain for the bad RNG to having effected the previous tide-games in a similar player base dropout fashion over a similar timeline?

For me, it’s the difficulty and some other things. But reading forums, and experincing first hand the frustrations both from myself and other players, that’s a major contributor.

If you can’t argue politely with someone else, don’t argue at all. There is never a need to start slinging insults.

VT2 also had an extremely poor new player experience that was exacerbated by the item RNG. Power level being tied to damage, cleave and stagger meant your attacks felt like hitting things with a pull noodle due to the scaling of enemy stats between difficulty levels. It took around 15-20 hours to reach max power on your first character and it feels horrible until you get to the 500s.

Compare this to VT1 where you could mostly jump in, it skips that pool noodle feeling since the stat difference between the rarity of weapons were much more minor.

DT’s new player experience is better (now), with better enemy stat scaling through the difficulties, but I still think they went a bit too far in the early difficulties where, depending on director RNG, it can be a bit too devoid of enemies.

Just out of curiosity i searched various posts on both forums as old as i could find and seldom were the complaints regarding difficulties. What’s funny is that many players were/are complaining about lack of difficulty and wish for higher or crazier.

Anyhow opinions are just this. Opinions. Everyone is entitled to them. Though on this discussion we are trying to debate in what ways FS can improve their cash shop content being as they keep saying their only means of revenue in order to keep developing DT.

My main point is - for the above to happen - we need to “whine”. To keep posting complaints. Regardless “corporations’ human tendency to exploit for profits and using tested fomo tactics”. Only thing we can do to change crap like this os posting complaints and not purchasing trashy low quality cosmetics.

Hey,

Darktide is my first Fatshark game, so I can’t comment on the Vermintides, but I love it and have over 2500 hours played.

Saying that, I see why Darktide is stuck at the current player count.

In today’s economy, gamers face more time constraints than money, unlike in the 1990s when I was a kid and money was a major concern (I’m a swede, so we weren’t poor).

As kids; we used to play Super Mario 3, Blaster Master, and Megaman through for the 600th time. We now don’t have the time to play the 600 titles in our Steam collection (many of which are free or on sale).

There are simply too many games to choose from today compared to when I was a kid/teen, and we only have so much time, so each game we play becomes a choice between not playing something else. Thus, we constantly wager and value our time investment in games with rewarding gameplay loops.

Fatshark moves too slowly in an era where major updates are required to compete with all other games for players time investment.

Darktide also lacks any long-term progression (outside of using TrueLevel mod), compared to for example Helldivers 2 and their Galactic War system, which means that if you aren’t like myself as well as some others who enjoy repeating the same missions over and over, you’ll rapidly burn out in Darktide.

ARPGs, for example, are a niche game genre that usually boil down to loot pinatas where you kill entire screens as fast as you han with AoE abilities, reset the map, and repeat the process.

Kinda similar to Darktide’s loop in a way, however with ARPGs, loot is the core gameplay rather than challenge, therefore there is a progression there which Darktide lacks.

If Fatshark wants to attract and keep more players, they really need to figure out some way to evolve their next Tide game beyond the current gameplay loop, like constantly introducing new penances with new cosmetic rewards but again, like everything else, Fatshark moves too slowly, which is not going to make most players stay in the current gaming era.

Thanks to " Character Cosmetics View Improved" mod I was able today to plan what I would like to buy on my Ogryn (mind Fatshark, I won’t buy stuff that I don’t like). So I came with this simple but sleek (for me) drip:

Obviously this drip is to MY liking, but this is how I would like to rock on my Ogryn:

So Fatshark - here is the question for you:

Do YOU REALLY WANT MY MONEY? Cause like… you are not doing anything to even allow me to spend them. I litereally CAN’T give you money. I can’t buy any of these cosmetics right now. No cosmetics = no money.

You also realize Fatshark that now we have both online cosmetic library and mods like " Character Cosmetics View Improved" so we can plan/check what we want to buy or not in advance, even further not falling for your FOMO, becasue we know which skins are worse/better/wanted/clipping etc. before we even see them in store so it’s just “it’s not that one, pass”. We can see if helm you propose is just less attractive/worse/better version of said helm. We have access to all of them. Seriously, you really need to change your approach to the store.
