i still chuckle when i see the rope a character ties their cloak with sticking out, rigid like a staff.
If i remember correctly the cash shop rotation was freezed by FS’ decision until they fix some major letdowns with the initial release.
Community rained thunder upon them due to the fact they released something completely busted with a fully working rotating cash shop. So at least FS had the decency to freeze the cash shop until they alleviate some major issues.
Catalogue would be so good that it is really never gonna happen. So weekly rotation is at least easier and more possible than a permanent catalogue which FS wouldn’t/couldn’t support.
Oh well I guess I’m sorry, I bought Steel Legion cosmetics
Well i know your urge to post something crappy ehm i mean clever is irresistible but try to keep track with the actual post you’re quoting.
Steel legion is from a previous rotation. Latest rotation fields atrocious recolors and reused assets with a filthy trinket replacing the weapon cosmetic slot for three classes.
At any rate you can spend your money however and on whatever you like. But this shouldn’t prevent you to acknowledge karkery when is right in front of you…
I was fully prepared to go whale on Steel Legion and they karking ruined the Zealot and Psyker ones imo. I complained about the eyebrows clipping through that helmet during the stream as if that’s even the biggest offense (the hose location is far far worse). But only because they chose to larp in that set for the stream, like c’mon guys.
Seriously? Wow… What a quality control you have Fatshark. Like sure, First Descendant from Nexon wants more money than you for skins… but have you seen the quality?? Even when it comes to greed, there should at least be quality following price tag.
its even worse than I thought, after making these up for the complaint/bug thread they asked me to make I noticed the ears stick out too lmao. but for real why is the hose hooked up there its just terrible and makes absolutely no sense. literally could have had $15 canuckbucks from your boy here and you missed out fat shark.
psyker was almost ok but I didn’t enjoy the hood very much. unfortunately its clearly not meant for psykers because the rebreather box clips into every. single. upperbody they have, even the set one.
There are more than enough completed sets for a weekly rotation, as well as expanding out to six pages, if they really want to hang on to the crap FOMO model.
Wow i don’t know what to write… It seems the “premium” sets get released without FS giving them not even a glance of inspection.
Also setting premium cosmetics apart from other premiums with the special logo tagged on them and the higher price would make anyone believe that they are indeed special and given extra care and fine detail.
This is clearly not the case as anyone can see in your photos.
Sets with the special logo on them representing a famous lore regiment or faction should be real good and carefully designed. For example clipping issues should definitely not be the case. Also they should be clearly distinctive and with extra fine details. Not these generic trash we are being served…
I’m sure there’s a lot of data from games that aren’t similar enough for it to effectively translate. Just like I’m sure there are a lot of “informed opinions” from execs who have no idea who they’re actually selling to.
Humans are going to human. No matter if they play Mine Sweeper, or Darktide. Companies are interested in one thing, making money. This method is making money, otherwise this method would not be here, and in every other game.
Like the previous post, I’m not saying you’re wrong, and I’m sure there are a lot of nuances to this that we are not privy to. But the method works, and it’s here to stay. No amount of forum posting will change this. Only multiple well-put together peer-reviewed scientific study on the subject that proves that lowering 25 euro skins to 5 euro, or making the FOMO rotation from 2 weeks to “always available”, will increase the sales numbers.
As Metallica would say, “Sad but true!”.
And as players would say, “vote with your wallet”.
And as I would say, “KILL! MAIN! BURN!”.
I would really like FS presented us with some charts regarding the premium stuff sales. I know that’s gonna never happen but if they ever showed us something like this and it showed that trash shop did actually make 'em money with these crappy fomo tactics and trashy content many people myself included will just shut the f* up.
Please. That doesn’t apply to Fatshark. For many years they first always implement bad solutions to their gmes only to finally change them later for better. Them keeping something doesn’t mean it’s succesfull at all. It’s just that they had no idea what they were doing. It always take FS unbelieveble amount of time to change anything major in game or to steer away from course. It’s same story with their every game.
Their RNG system which was supposed to be “player retention” tactic didn’t work at all but that didn’t stop them from keeping it in game for ~2 years. Someone believed there that casino gotcha-system will keep people engaged, yet game was sliding away to barely ~4k players on average, becasue Fatshark mistook games (which require content and fun) with casinos (which requires addicts).
Don’t mistake lack of plan with sticking to a good plan.
Yea, people like you were saying the same thing about RNG-casino progression. “No amount of forum posting will change this”.
And here we are. Changed. For better.
There is no more sheep thing to say than “nothing can be done. It is what it is”. Like obedient consumer would.
Better yet, remove shop rotation completely. All cosmetics, all the time.
then stop whining
That it doesn’t apply to Fatshark is your opinion and as speculative as my claim. But my claim is at least backed up by the fact that Fatshark has kept the system in place.
Has nothing to do with cash shop. Two vastly different methods and systems. While the RNG progression compared to Vermintide was a HUGE disappointment, it was hardly the reason why people left. I speculate that people leave the tide-games because of the difficulty. I know many were turned off by the lack of progression if you failed over the three games.
Looking at the Steam Charts for all three games, Darktide has done exactly what the previous tide-games did. So you again, argue out of nothing, based on nothing, applying personal dislikes with the game to the apparent “failure” of the game.
First off, I never said that. I understand that you try to minimize my arguments and viewpoint by demonizing me and grouping me up with others who I don’t agree with. But, you are wrong. Also the difference is, that this is straight up money vs. game mechanics. The two aren’t easily compared.
But by all means, continue to post about chaning the monitization. I never said you couldn’t, or shouldn’t. Just pointed out the fact, and it is a fact, that your little post won’t change their minds.
Again, this is the take of someone who is emotionally invested and feel they need to attack another person. Trying to minimize them as people. L-comment.
It’s stating a fact. It’s easy to say “nothing can be done”. That’s the most lazy approach ever. If everyone would have approach like you, nothing would ever change anywhere.
That’s absolutely idiotic statement:
- Player Retention
- Player Numbers
- Players Engagement
- Word of Mouth
- Postive Reviews
- Improving Gameplay Loop/system that influences all above
All of these things is straight up MONEY. You need all these things if you want to make money. No customers = no money. No happy customers = no returning/loyal customers. Unhappy customers = no recommendation to new customers.
You are speaking nonsense if you are thing the biggest overhaul of the game has nothing to do with game trying to make more money.
Dude, do you even read what you are writing? You literally just said what I said. Also you speculating that people left becasue of difficulty is… illogical. Game has 5 levels of difficulty and game can be easy adjustable to everyone to have fun. It’s not like Souls where you have only one difficulty.
Please it’s like saying “studios are keeping to DEI despite losing money on it, so that must means that it’s a successful business model” while we all know that every DEI game flopped hard so far. Sony still released Concord despite every playtester saying game is bad and lost 400+ million. But hey, if they sticked to it that must have meant it’s a good decision, right?
People doing something or sticking to something doesn’t mean that it’s a successful model - just that some people may be stubborn, incompetent, have inflated ego, be surrounded by Yes Man, Echo Chamber, not carrying or simply can’t admit that they were not correct, or they might not even have any idea what to do. It took them 2 years to fix one of the worst itemization/gear progression systems ever. 2 years. It’s Fatshark. We may see FOMO go away in 1 year plus, simply becasue that’s how fast they are… like fat fish on sand.
Your argument “if someone still does it, it must means it’s good” is one big nonsense.
And I still stay by what I said - not one sane person likes or supports FOMO/rotation store and that is feedback universally said here, on reddit, YT, everywhere. So if we want to change something - we need to provide feedback and talk about it to developers. You saying “nope, nothing will change, nothing will help” is sheep-behaviour. Just shove head into sand, push both cheeks for slap and then say “thank you”. It’s pathetic.
