On Overwatch Penance

Why in gods name would some phsycopath add such a penance on the veteran that if you take even a scratch of melee damage you fail, in a game that forces you to use both range and melee have a penance based on you having to be a coward, not to mention that sometimes a random enemy can just sneak up behind ya and slap you destroying 20 minutes of careful play to get the penance, a penance that is needed to get better drip and has to be done on the 3rd difficulty, its absolutely idiotic why it was put in the game and should be changed to something that someone can do wtihout an elite team body guarding them threw the missiom where half the time someone gets it is dimb luck and a absolutely goated team.

I completely agree.
The person who came up with this achievement and the Make Every Shot count achievement must be forced to complete it with randoms in 10 attempts, or take away a salary for 2 months

Seriously! It’s ridiculous. I’ve been trying to get this done off and on since beta and have not managed to get it at all. I have enemies coming at me from behind, falling out of the ceiling and even spawning on top of me.

This most recent try I made it through the ENTIRE level till right at the end. My hopes were so high. But immediately upon entering the final room my team runs away from me, pox walkers spawn next to me and I just used all my stamina running to what I thought would be a nice, safe corner. I was saying “Help! Help! For the love of the emperor help!” but nobody got to me in time. I took 2 melee damage. Whelp that was a waste of a half hour of stress.

As long as you have full toughness, you can take one slap for free.
Since the penance does not require to play any high difficulty, it is definitely doable.
If you have problems, try doing it with a friend who protects you.

I think this penance is bugged. I just completed a mission on Malice without taking a single point of health damage, of any source, and didn’t get it.

It sort of is but not really. You can be hit for less than 1 hp. The HUD will show that you have 150/150 but you’re gonna be still able to heal at a medstation or a medpack. You’ll have to do it again, sorry.

Please don’t sprint if you’re in danger. You are not able to outrun enemies if they are behind your back, and as a Veteran you take double damage when sprinting.

Definitely on of the relatively few places I will say Fatshark really screwed up.

And no having a full toughness bar does not help. Its literally no damage from melee at all. So if your in the back and some poxwalker spawns right behind you might as well kiss it good bye.

So far the best luck I’ve had is playing a low intensity malice just behind the farce of a frontline that happens in PUGs with the camo feat. That way the trash goes for someone else first even when (not if when) the melee are too kill-focused to see them. Which I suspect is how it was meant to be done. Just too bad that I keep trying to be a team player…
