Ok, we have got the crafting "blog" post... my feeling, and yours?

It might be too player friendly or provide the players with too much agency!

I assume that once you will give the weapon to Hadron you will be able to extract one blessing… the fact you bought it before the patch should not have an effect on this

They completely changed weapon crafting for weaves in VT2-- proving that it is guaranteed possible to completely change it in Darktide.

Off course… but I am not sure they will in the next month…
Next year, maybe… next month, I am sure it won’t happen.

They could do it a couple of months with a small team. Don’t need to expend the entire studio like they always seem to do.

Let’s be serious…
They work on this system for 3 months (without taking in consideration the beta). Last two months, they have only modified one thing.
They need to release the game on the xbox.

And you seriously think they will entirely change the system now?

After the dev post, definitively not.

They can redevelop the crafting system in paralel to the xbox release and release both at the same time. Regardless, the xbox version got delayed in favour of improving the game, and this development time could be used to make those changes.
But we all know Fatshark isn’t willing to actually make any improvements-- they’re probably just going to double-down, again.

And you believe they will do that? you’re serious or you dream they would? cause it won’t happen.
They deliver the crafting and be sure they will work on the port to the xbox.

They won’t delay more this… and I suppose they have never stopped to work on the port… or the changes would have been more significant

I’m not saying they will, I’m saying they could if they actually had the will to do it, which I doubt.
Read my comments more thoroughly.

ok

They could… but they won’t… so now what we will do?
I really think it is better to propose things that can be implemented than asking for an entire new system when we perfectly know it won’t happen.
Off course, next year, in 2 years, maybe we will get something new… but until that…

The point was to suggest a vastly superiour system over what sorry excuse of a system the game currently (or in the future) has, in order to point out how bad the current (or planned) system is, showing the community how much better a system could be if the developers actually cared about keeping players happy and positively engaged, in opposition to a player-hostile system that turns a game into a second job when we all probably already work in real life.

I am sure they will listen to this proposition and stop the entire development oif the game and its port to the xbox to do these changes

If the game is still alive down the line, and the crunch to address immediate problems slows, do you think they could do it though? Like a big overhaul to the crafting system to make it more approachable for casuals and people with less time on their hands to grind for higher tier loot?

I think they will do something for casual players, sooner or later. I hope their new system take this in consideration, but, tbh, I have little hope on this. I really hope I am wrong and that the new system will be great and address all the problem we have identified.

The crafting ‘review’ they’ve posted demonstrates they have no regard or respect for our time. It’s a bad joke of a system, with laughable chances of getting even good weapons, never mind talking about ‘perfect’ ones. No way to directly grind with a calculable end goal, just more layers of hit and hope RNG.

Get rid of locks entirely. It was a bad concept and will always be bad.

Allow long-term improvement of one statistic per weapon to widen the bracket of decent weapons without handing over the keys to the store.

Permit the ‘purchase’ of traits and blessings for weapons once a weapon with that trait or blessing has been ‘salvaged’.

Allow random replacement of traits and blessings, with increasingly expensive costs per reroll, allowing traits to be searched through (for salvage purposes, see above) at a hefty cost.

What we got is nowhere near enough to get me to come back to play. I want to come back to play, and I keep checking to see what the news is, but I’ll keep advocating for my community to stay away until it’s fit for purpose and is respectful to players instead of feeling like an insulting joke.

Perfect ones, terribly diffficult. Good, easy.
Off course it depends of what you call it good and what you call perfect.
I have weapons that are enough good to think I don’t need better. It is not a true perfect weapon, but it is enough perfect for me.
Here some examples:

This one is great… however I want one with surgical +4% and hand cannon III or IV.

I have weapons I can transform to get something really great.
Here several example (please consider that the Rashad needs a fix before I invest on it)

This one needs only Mercy killer (yes I don’t want lacerate, that blessing, I have, is useless)

These one need, for the first a better Thunderous (I have one with 4 stacks) the seconds need to replace Thrust by Brutal momentum.

This one need a fix from dev (bug about head hits not registered) and would see thrust replaced by brutal momentum

Ok, you would say none are really perfect… But, do we need perfect weapons?

So, with the actual system, I succeeded to get enjoyable weapons and several that would be great with the new system.

You got lucky. Congrats.

You realize you are at this point just bragging about getting lucky in the lottery, and basically telling anyone that hasn’t been lucky, that they’re just bad? I have 300+ hours and I have maybe TWO weapons across three characters that has 350+ rating AND the blessing combination I want at a somewhat decent tier.

The RNG for this game is truly catastrophically astronomical. Introducing locks on blessings and perks makes it nearly impossible to mitigate the RNG.

Frankly, I find your whole position of “well we know they won’t make it good, so let’s suggest slightly less crap things” to be a bit strange. We’re not asking them to solve world hunger, here. Yeah, FatShark are probably incredibly malicious and the open letter was purely to buy them time to make the xbox version, not to actually fix the game - but that’s no reason to not shout from the rooftops and ask for actually good systems.

If we accept that the systems are terrible and only ask for tiny improvements, then FatShark has won.

You realize that you call catastrophic a system that can permit everybody to get decent weapons?

Agri, both were found at Merk’ shop. Same for antax axe. And they said they will boost the weapons we will get from this shop.

In fact, what happen is that as you’re not happy with the described system you keep repeating that it is a disastrous system.

Also, I find your position really strange… You know that they won’t change what they described for 2 reasons:

  • In 3 months, they did not finish the system they wanted to give us, and this is not the unique change they made since the first blog that explain the delay
  • They need to port the game to the xbox

So, you can argue how many times you want, it won’t change the odds. You won’t get an entirely different system, you can cry, roll on the ground, threaten, write letters, create topics, making polls or stop playing… It will not change this.
They need to deliver crafting and they need to port the game to the xbox for financial reasons.
So, and sorry if it is harsh but you can loose your time at complaining, or you can propose slight changes that could be taken in consideration.
