Ok so now that the ps5 version is almost available does this mean we start getting more content more regularly

The whole team can focus on the game itself now rather than porting it to other platforms now r-right.

Unless you have plans for a switch version (please for the emperor no)

Was VT2 faster in getting content.

Same answer. It won’t be really quicker, maybe bug fixes will be quicker after they’ve sorted PS5 but content itself won’t be faster

Inb4 its exact like the end of last year and the beginning of this one
The console release is followed with multiple back to back updates and then fatshark go dark for 5 months giving a the new players the true fatshark game experience.

When VT2 was done with the ports, we got wep packs, new careers and chaos wastes. I’m hoping this game will also pick up the slack now.
Not to jinx it, but technically they could still port it to the switch and leave us hanging for another year.

Let’s find out.

The meme answer is switch port, the more realistic one is that it’ll slightly increase in speed.

VT2 launched in April 2018 for PC, July 2018 on Xbox, and December 2018 on PS4. First career didn’t come out until July 2020.

Chaos Wastes came out 4 months after the Xbone release. Hard to think they churned it out that fast given everything involved with it. I’d wager it was being worked on simultaneously.

At any rate, I’m as hopeful as the next guy that content will be churning out faster, but I ain’t betting money on it!

i hope so. once that port is done, they should have more developer time.

the crystal ball says no, but maybe we’ll finally get a new mode. like beyond that weav-havoc nonsense I already have limited interest in.

Sadly, next up is the Switch port.

nah, now prepare for a content drought and buggy mess of a game until they get back from vacation in april/may

When it comes to Darktide updates, just refer to this image once every two weeks.

Funny. Did you say something ports being done?

I kinda misheard. I thought you said Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 are next. Not sure, must be my ears. I’m getting old…

I kinda want a DLC content release where its a whole new area maybe new story and a boat load of new weapons. I know I know thats just asking for waaaay too much but at this point id happily pay for a dlc if it gave us that much new content

Good thing increasing playerbase size

Going to be more frugal approach in releasing updates to be compatible across all 3 platforms going forward in future schedule.

No.

It means i will have to deal with more headless chickens in this game.

Please allow me to disable crossplay! Every game that has it suffers from the same symptoms.

I’d rather play the game with the barebones bots that are in the game.

I’d prefer that business model too, but they already basically excluded the possibility. Only Blizzard can get away with making people pay for expansions AND having a severely overpriced ingame store.

Most of us vets have such a fundamental grasp on the gameplay we could just carry them while laughing at their inexperience

No.

Historically, the patch certification process for Sony is slower and less precise than Microsoft’s and has been for over a decade (Dark Souls 1 post release hotfixes breaking the game for weeks being the example).

Regardless of this history, requiring crossplay means that they have to release all patches simultaneously instead of rolling out a half dozen hotfixes on PC then rolling them up into a single update for the consoles every month or two.
