Darktide for PS5 has been rated in Taiwan. Is it part of the update?

And the best part about it is watching the subreddit go “…that’s why it’s been taking so long. They hit us with the unofficial port delay twice.

Fatshark, just announce it already and let us know it’s the last port. In fact, please don’t port this game again. I almost feel sinful and gross saying it, but if this game gets next to no content next year only for there to be whispers of a Linux port this coming August, I’d just uninstall.

Strawhat, is PS5 coming with the update? I want to finally, actually, for real, after two years, say “Hey, the game has basically hit 1.0” to my friends so they can play again.

could be a mistake

The port is happening, just in time for the ps5 pro to run an auric at 50 fps, which is good for the fanbase and exposure of the game.

As I understand PS5 Pro won’t take it to 60 fps anyway, since it’s only GPU update, the processor is the same which mean you’ll be getting slightly better image quality at the same performance level which is subpar.

So yeah 50 is pretty accurate.

Hell even Space Marine 2 on PS5 Pro won’t be running any faster actually.

I have to agree.

This game needs the majority of dev resources to focus on delivering actual content. The ports are near enough to finished, and I hope that with this PS5 thing it is at last over.

FS has proven that they work at a pretty consistent pace. We have years of VT2 development history to demonstrate that, even after the porting was done, updates continued at about the same pace (quarterly) we see them at now in DT.

VT2 launched on PC in March 2018. It launched on Xbox in July 2018. Content didn’t start magically firehosing out after that.

Same deal with DT. We got meaty updates quarterly before the Xbox launch, meaty updates quarterly after the Xbox launch, and there’s no reason to think we won’t continue to see the same cadence after the PS5 launch.

EDIT: and the game already runs on Linux with Proton. Linux gaming is fully in its golden age.

Yea, releasing everything half-finished, working 2 years to clean up the mess and port is so lame!

I find it strange to read about different experiences from xbox players on reddit. I mean they’re all same hardware, if anything should be easier to optimise with one configuration.

But alas I read about Xbox players asking for advice on what to do. There are no tweaks possible, just 2 performance modes and they’re treated to stutterfest with only one avenue of troubleshooting, reinstall and that isn’t solution for bad optimisation. At least give them option of potato lowest and 120fps, many TVs are 120hz now.

I wonder how they “balance” difficulty for both platforms at the same time.

Would of made sense to have separate development path between console and PC. Then can actually balance difficulty independently and benefit of neither holding back updates to eachother.

Ay man, if youre willing to buy a PS5, youre willing to take it up the behind for Fatshark. Just relax and dont change bud.

LMAO. Um, broski? You forgot the Switch 2?

I think it’d be perfect if they told us whether or not the PS5 port is the final port. They released a game with some nice gameplay but they’ve spent almost two years focusing on fixing it. It would be nice to see it thrive rather than go through yet another rehabilitation. I look forward to the day FS finally announce the port and tell us their future plans in some way that’s comfortable to them since they seem anemic to dates.
