Ogryn: lack of weapons

High revved weapon are in lore in the same way that always powered weapons.

Basically yes they exist, but they aren’t the majority that is around (As books follow exceptional peoples)

Darktide has a “Rule of 3” when it comes to weapon variants - the Heavy Eviscerator currently has 2. Mama’s gonna keep her fingers crossed

Yep. As much as some people defend Fat Shark no matter what they do, I’ll never forget a video linked from Fat Shark’s launcher on the thunderhammer.

Seemed pretty clear that whoever decided to link to this video didn’t watch it close, as the guy was talking about how to build a thunder hammer, and in his intro he says

(Hey, this isn’t exact, but it’s close from memory.)

“Listen, this weapon sucks, Fat Shark got everything about it wrong, it’s not what it should be and it’s not even really useful except for a couple of things, but if you really want one, here’s the best way to build Fat Shark’s terrible blunder of a thunderhammer.”

And Fat Shark decided to give us a link right to it from the launcher.

I don’t think they’ll introduce a 3rd variant with a mechanic of switching rev orientation (Would the teeth even make sense for it ?)

If they really want to make the 3rd Evi stand aside I would opt for giving it flaming particles on the teeth, which would appear when revved enough (As that wouldn’t matter to the model itself)

This got mama squealing and kicking her little legs :sob:

I mean yeah ? Like was he expecting the SM1 thunderhammer ?

And FS not silencing a streamer is more of a goodthing than anything else

When I was digging HARD on chainsword lore, I was also digging on motorized blades in general, and serrated swords.

One thing most people do not understand about blades is they cut on the slide, (slicing) not on the press. (Or if they do on the press it’s not close to as much.) Combine a strike with ‘follow through’ and you end up with an extremely effective slice with impact.

A chainsword could be constructed such that on impact, the motion of the chain would make it like being sliced by a regular sword 15+ feet long. (Because it would multiply the amount of the edge pulled through the cut,)

But there is also the question of what actually happens as velocity increases. Could you build it so that the teeth move so fast they are moving at a velocity similar to a bullet from a gun, and if you did, what would be the effect? I couldn’t get data on that since it’s never been tried, so far as I know.

listen ya dip. most of the gear in necromunda are implants, we’re not getting implanted weapons for obvious reasons. just because you never played necromunda and browse reddit for things to cry about doesn’t mean you should be sharing your opinions.

Are you daft ? Or trying to make a point ?

Cause the Slave Ogryn have 2 different weapon list. 1 being Augmentics (Like the Augmentic fists) and the other being normal weapons.

Of it, there are 2h Axes, 2h Hammers, Axe, Spudjacker (wrench), Rock Saw (Circular saws)…

I personally think the Heavy Bolter from Space Marine 1 would be a very good weapon fit for a heavy weapons class like the Ogryn. A good melee idea would be a sort of Chain Pike being a spear version for our favorite abhumans.

This gave me some ideas for the Adeptus Mechanicus Class.

Ogryn needs a fist weapon that isn’t controversial with GW like for example Ogryn-sized brass knuckles. It’s very rudimentary and fits FatShark’s horrendous marketing tagline about playing as Rejects that are #RisingUp.
