knockback from shotgunners is really aggravating when it keeps you at distance.
some scrawny dude pushes ogryn back, but doesn’t fly away from the recoil…

havent been doused by a real life one yet, but my understanding is them spraying a fine mist that ignites rather than a solid stream of liquid at the force of a firehose.
yes the stuff reaches far, but most examples ive seen is a pretty broad flame so judging from that i´d say the stuff disperses on its way to the target.
so ogryn getting pushed back like some anti riot water gun is “strange” at best.
granted its “needed” as a balancing thing so you dont run up to your flamer through the direct jet, but feels wonky nontheless

Completely agree with you OP. I don’t feel like an Ogyrn from lore when I play the class, I just feel like a bloated, oversized regular person, with a target on my back, so I barely play the class.
Ogyrn evolved on planets with very heavy gravity, which caused them to evolve their massive size and strength but their intelligence suffered. Suppose what I am saying is I don’t feel like a hulking brute when I play Ogyrn, I just feel like a fat man.
I disagree, dodging is still better as Ogyrn for most of his melee weapons because he cannot block overheads. The only time blocking is the better build is if he has the slab shield.
You misunderstand me. Let me rephrase:
“Ogryn’s the only operator that really tries and incentivize blocking over dodging”
I never said it succeeded, in fact, by “That’s not how the meta has flowed” I meant precisely “Dodging is better than blocking on all operators in like, 95-99% of cases” and in fact, blocking is really only necessary in a few edge cases that, judging by my experience, people don’t know about. At least, a lot of players I’ve seen would rather face-tank an plogryn charge than press right click.
