Op apparently its better to report on discord since the community managers hover around. Overall if someone wants to do something dumb like this they have to remember the game is on a dedicated server. It’s not like vermintide, put the two together.

on principle im against bans or punishment on names. i think its wrong to censor people, especially over something as really just… out of pocket as this, like if this is the height of what we care about then where do we draw the line in propriety? because personally i think that’ll be the start of a purity spiral. i want that in my story for darktide- not my actual community over something dumb

its clear you have a different priciple on the subject, and thats fine. i just think its kinda pointless since we already have things that is or isnt acceptable in the name maker for the game. so if theres a workaround then i think its of little real consequence.
think of it like this: if he has an offensive name- then he has an offensive name, and thats the worst possible outcome, not the best. but eh
but if theres a heavy crackdown on even implying a name like it in the future. it may restrict player creativity and be even more unwelcomeing than that name itself. for example. elden ring wont even let you name yourself knight because it involves the letters n.i.g. in the name itself. so it censors that part of the name. i think thats a little ridiculous and i dont think we should be going that far.
sure it enables orgyn man in the image, but really- caring that much over a name, or what they say. i think is a little silly

you do know this is the internet and that there is not free speech on the net as if a form / thread don’t like what you post they have the RIGHT to take down and ban you from the form / thread ?
they should only forse the player to rename his toon IF he has broken the TOS of the game, in this case i would say he has and need’s a slap on the wrist’s

by my estimations 1997~2010. i should know, i grew up then. there was a greater degree of think-skinned culture where the sticks and stones philosophy was more generally accepted. words- especially on the internet, are not meant to be wholly taken seriously. and i i agree with that stance personally. i agree that because we’re in fatshark’s server that we should obey their rules. but i also think it matters very little if one of the minor rules like a jury-rigged name to skirt the profanity filter is at worst an extremely minor offense

i was born in 1980 and yes back then they did not do much when people call people the N word but that was because there was nothing you could do apart from punch the persion and then both get arrested
now we are ment to be more civilised and not just say the 1st thing that come in to our brains

I didn’t threaten anyone i gave an example. When people stated people didn’t care. I don’t know I can be wrong and my own eyes and experiences are false. Go to a rough black neighbourhood and start calling them the word, then tell them it’s a joke, free speech etc and to chill out, or dont be a karen.
