Ogryn feels worse than closed beta, hitboxes, and other

Ogryn was my most played class in the closed beta by far and it was a lot of fun running around beating on everything. It feels like since then, the suppression from ranged on ranged enemies as well as the distance you needed to be to get them to pull out their melee weapons have been nerfed.

The number of times I have been in p*ssing distance of enemies, just barely out of melee range, and they just volley-fire my ass absolutely chunking my health through my toughness is insane. Also, the fact that Ogrryn’s dodge is not proportional to their size/hitbox and is just a fixed distance is another issue entirely.
It seems the hitboxes in general (for everyone) are much larger than the camera angle would suggest where you think you are entirely behind cover, but you end up either taking damage from the fire that passes by your cover, or you just take damage straight through it.

The issue seems to stem from the difficulty scaling. Sedition and Uprising are mind-numbingly easy to the point of almost being boring, but on Malice and higher you just can’t really do anything as an Ogryn besides hiding behind a shield or hoping that whatever warp-possessed code that dictates where your hitbox is, is in fact behind cover.

In my mind, I say “Well I’m big and chonky with my 337 health (curio bonus), I’ll charge in and tie up the enemy in melee and do the crowd control dodge/push dance with heavy attacks weaved in.” Only to be shot by the 17 other ranged enemies outside of the strict melee range. Also, with the current coherency-toughness system there are a lot of conflicting passives and feats, such as certain classes gaining toughness for being closer or farther away from enemies, and the 2 melee focused classes having movement abilities meant to crowd control or reposition which almost always puts them out of the incredibly short coherency range.

I’m at the point where I don’t even want to play Ogryn past whatever level it is now (game says 16, but progression bug so probably 18 or so at this point). A few people during the closed beta were saying that Ogryn falls off a bit at higher difficulty because of the above issues that are now exacerbated but I wasn’t having too much of a problem until now.

It doesn’t help that ranged damage pushes you back or completely locks you in place, and the mobility being nerfed all over in general.
