So a while back I was in a discussion about chain weapons and what the Ogryn could possibly have.
Now I don’t know if there is a “chainmace” or the like, but I felt like it would be a cool weapon to have.
The idea being that you would hit something and the discs on the mace head would spin in different directions tearing into things like one of those shredding machines that chew up cars.
It might not really be chains, but it could work like the axe and swords as it would shred!

It does feel like a gorey weapon so I can see that. But Ogryns are pretty violent too.
Also, no skulls for the skull god if you turn them into chunky salsa.
Can’t seem to find any, but we do know that there are Chain weapons where they use rows of chains circular to the weapon’s length
Chain Flails are two-handed melee weapons that combine the indiscriminate lethality of a chainsword with the savagery of a flail. Utilising a solid grip with a trigger attached by various adamantine cables to a whirring head lined by four parallel rows of voracious teeth, when wielded improperly the weapon is as likely to inflict terrible wounds upon its wielder as it is to any foe. It is clear to any observer that the wielders possess utterly no fear of death, making the chain flail a preferred tool of those whose faith in the Emperor is unbreakable and unquestioning.

And also maybe the Chain Hammer, like not the common one that we have seen in miniature but in Black Crusade
Not sure if it’s like a club with Chains at the end or a hammer with several rows of Chainsaws…

Tbh I think the Chain weapons shouldn’t be something given to the Ogryn, but rather give them Rock Saws and Drills instead.

Those drills and saws seem so “Necromunda” to me. I’d like it to more of a weapon-weapon rather than a tool that is not a weapon.
I do wonder what they look like tho’.

Thick iron stick with knurled grip and purity seals attached via chain to 4 gripless chainswords welded together, basically.
To me that is just something completely different from what I was going for. I’m not against it, I am just not interested in it at all. It feels “Necromunda” and “tool” rather than weapon.
I get that is has the “saw” part, and it could technically work since it is also in Warhammer tho’.

Naw, it has to have an adamantine chain leading to multiple saws.
Take a Flail, and on the weight you have 4 circular Chainsaws running around the circonference of it
Ideally alternating the direction of the chains (each white line being a separate Chainsaw)
Hmm. Sounds like a good way to mutilate yourself, but the Imperium never cared about that so…
Also seems like the shredding part would be rather useless since you can’t push it.
You could perhaps get around the shields a little, but flails are finicky and, at least to me, perhaps a bit complex for Ogryns?
Since there’s a chance lasguns will get redesigned I am in mega favor of any true beam weapon being in game, even if it’s a weird melee weapon.

Oh it would not fin on the Ogryn, I have to find some lore bits cause there is one about Chain weapons and Ogryn iirc.
Where they don’t get them but have Rock Saws instead or something.
