Ogrin's Shield. Make it so that stamina is not wasted by shooters

It’s annoying as hell that when I want to play some mediocarely aggressive Ogrin with shield, I get destroyed by the very thing that this thing suppose to be ok versus, shooters.

Even with all the block efficiency and stamina it dries out too fast, that I can only engage at 5 shooters, or less, in the corridor, otherwise my shield flies away so they could kill me.

I understand that I should take a good moment, but at this point of discussion why should I even take a shield when any other weapon can do this kind of engagement better.

And this thing is so god damn slow when I move.

The only thing that this thing good at, is CC, but there’s a weapon that does in infinitely better, Power Maul, or why bother with CC if you can kill 12 trillion hoards by yourself with THE KNIFE?

Why the hell did they gave this weapon an ability to block bullets and lasers if they don’t want us to tank or engage into them? So we could bully that one Sniper by blocking his shots?(BTW his shots do not drain the stamina, which is funny)

I really can not find the good reason to use this weapon at all, unless you just like the idea of Shield Ogrin.
I know that this weapon can be used pretty successfully, but you would be playing exactly the same as with any other Ogrin’s weapon, but a little more confident with shooters.

Please make this weapon not a joke and make it so that stamina would be not drained by the bullets.
Also, blocking grabbers would be cool

Also make it deal at least 1 sex damage

The shield is a bait weapon.
Enemies run through you if any of your team mate is within “latching” distance
Shooters will break you instantly
The user just ragdols stuff more than he actually deals damage. Enemies can sometimes take ages to get up. Screw up lining headshot.

The old adage hold true here: damage is better than control. Having installed the scoreboard mod, the numbers talk for themselves. Any other weapon would have a slightly reduced level of stagger, but about 4 to 5 times the damage.

Anything that knocks people to the ground also has potential to reduce dps for everyone, since enemy on the ground are not at the head level where crutchsword users should be swinging at to maximize damage, for example.

Shield is just not a good weapon, like in Vermintide 2 before stagger mechanic was introduced.
I don’t understand why enemies knocked on the ground shouldn’t take more damage; it seems logical.
Fatshark had a working system(stagger system) but for some reason didn’t include that in Darktide.

Sounds like someone is a one-button monkey.

Maybe instead of expecting to keep the block going indefinitely you should be advancing until the stamina is low, use the special to refresh stamina, then push forward again. And if you’re taking so much gunfire that you get “broken instantly” maybe you should be planting that shield right then. After all, just think what all those bullets will do to the rest if the group if you aren’t blocking them.

Nah. Why think for 5 seconds when its so much cooler to come to the forums and throw a tantrum.

Others are fast enough to get out of the way.
Shield ogryn apparently can’t dodge.

I know that I can do that, but that doesn’t really makes sense or reason, I’ll be so slow that I would be better of protecting my shooters, also, that will work only in the corridor situation.
This thing would be more viable to do if I could be faster or at least not sitting down now and then.
That could be done by making their bullets not take drain stamina.

These bullets will do exacly nothing to my team. I will be just a new wall that does exactly nothing and blocking the view.

Yes, I agree.
It, also, would be cooler if the enemies that lie on the ground wouldn’t instantly get up if I hit them with anything but ranged.

Enemies getting pulled up is a “feature” at this point.

When it comes to snipers, the shield can only protect yourself, not your teammates, and hiding behind you will be damaged by the sniper.

Is that so? Well, that’s understandable
