Elite dangerous and quick sessions of Crash Team Racing.
I probably have somewhere around 1200 hours of GTA Online. I own almost everything of value and have finished most difficult challenges of that game in the PVE department. And I know exactly what you mean. Once the game went from GTA to Military Battle Royale Griefers Market it was all downhill from there. And it’s so sad since the heists where some of the best gameplay I’ve ever had in any game ever. The game is rotten to the core. Eventually I just got fed up with it and quit it. I probably still have over 10 million laying around to no use.
I’d say if you want an amazing single player experience. Buy GTA V and play it. For multiplayer, avoid it at all costs.
ROCK AND STONE BROTHER!
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE! ![]()
This thread just made me realize Vermintide 2 is pretty much the only modern video game I play. I am trying to start up a recorded play-through of The Summoning (1992) if that counts. Couldn’t find any on the internets and felt sad that this gem has faded into total obscurity.
Ah, man, I finally picked up some games I’ve wanted for awhile during the Steam sale. Haven’t gotten to them all yet, but I’ve really been enjoying Hollow Knight and Nier: Automata.
A friend gave me Nier, didn’t think it was going to be for me, but it’s got some good humor and an interesting story!
Been loving the heck out of Deep Rock Galactic myself! Although I keep trying to dodge and being disappointed that I can’t, stupid vermintide reflexes…
I’ve also been playing some No Mans Sky, and I keep trying to get into TWW2. Haven’t played the total war games before, it seems super cool, just such a steep learning curve trying to get the hang of everything.
I also play quite a lot of City of Heroes, a totally awesome MMO that was shut down by NCSoft forever ago but recently got revived by some fans that managed to get their hands on the server code, so that is pretty sweet. They’re even developing fixes and new content for stuff.
Which parts of TWW2 are you having the most trouble with? I’ve played a fair bit myself and might be able to give you some advice.
LINK PLS.

There was a bunch of drama behind the “new” server but it should be open to everyone now.
Yeah, things have settled down somewhat. I’ve been playing on Homecoming, but there’s quite a few servers running slightly different versions of the game to choose from!
Thanks for the offer! Honestly though I’m just lacking motivation to learn it all. Usually when I’m ready to game it’s after work and I don’t want to think too hard about anything…
If you have the Brayheards DLC, the Chaos DLC (those two might be the same, can’t remember), or the Vampire Coast DLC, I recommend them. They basically encourage you to manage 1-3 locations and not the 10-20 that other teams might require. It also gives you the ability to ignore diplomacy for the most part (all of those teams are hated, so just kill everyone), gives you lots of opportunities to sack cities (practice attacking leaderless armies and cities), engage armies (practice fighting armies with leaders), and only have to manage a few very powerful armies.
Not that you have to own these; it’s what I did to get better and understand how to manipulate my army to the fullest (play ocean-vampires, make 12 units of artillery and 6 melees to cover them from fliers/cavalry, use your hero to keep your line intact while you shell your own troops
)
You can clearly see the experience they accumulated over time in the later DLC’s, like Tomb Kings and Vampire Coast (and the overhaul for Vampire Counts, hmm, a lot of good work for Undead… Is that a sign that Nagash will truly make it into game 3?
), but i would not recommend the Chaos Warriors DLC and especially the Beastmen DLC, they are just so lackluster in comparison. Maybe the wait for game 3 were all chaos factions just have to get a major overhaul will change that, but by then the pricepoint for all stuff might be astronomic. It sits now at 243,36€ (non-sale, sure), but even half that is still much. Sure, you get a lot for your money and i love those games to bits (second most played after V2, i believe). But investing that much requires conviction and trust it will provide that much fun, and i couldn’t have invested that much in 1 or 2 payments, only over the whole lifetime of both games.
You can normally pick them up for cheap during sales and humble bundles. Think I got one off a cdkeys website. Ended up with TW 1-2 and like 3 DLCs for less than 40$. From what I understand, a lot of factions are just not fun to play. But they’re really good in vs mode, like Norsca. I normally play manfred or Vlad. The undead are a lot of fun to play, and you don’t have to worry about diplomatic relations. A few of the gobbos will want to align with you. But for the most part, everyone is your enemy. Also, you get to wipe out the filthy dwari early in the game before they become stupid strong.
As for the hero mmo. I remember looking into that back in the day, it looked like a lot of fun, but I never got around to trying it. Would you recommend the private server?
City of Heroes and Champions Online are both worth checking out for a bit of fun lite-MMO. I spent most of my time just designing costumes and stuff.
City of Heroes probably has more stuff to do though.
You are 100% accurate with that call (beastmen was not great for me either) but it doesn’t mean those expansions can’t be enjoyed. I love playing as Chaos Warriors (they are so well tried and true anti-heroes, but heroes nonetheless) and found that my campaigns as Archaon were some of my most enjoyable. Likely not because of gameplay… but because you can put 300 Chaos Chosen on the front-line and watch them stomp whatever they come across and I like that part
I don’t know if my profile picture or banner gave it away, but I like Archaon a lot
Long story short: playing small teams is easier to learn on, but getting really good at TWW2 comes through playing the elven teams (they require the most complicated management with amber, slaves, and being on Ulthuan).
Well, one more game to add to my list: a few days ago, I purchased Octopath Traveler. Now, almost 30 hours in, it feels… a bit weird. On one hand it’s, let’s say “good enough” JRPG with mechanics that haven’t got too boring yet, but I find the story (or rather, stories) quite disjointed (at least for now) and the characters don’t really feel like a team, without even a real reason to travel together and hardly any interaction. There are also a few balance issues, more blatantly outside combat surprisingly enough.
