Yeah, the decision to add “what is being waited on” during loading is… actually more frustrating, because most of the time spent seems to be “waiting for other players”.
Totally disagree. I like that I know what is making me wait, so I know the issue isn’t my connection or that my pc is slow or whatever.

The ONLY way I’d accept this all-chill-like is if people in your strike team were added to the same mourningstar, but I don’t think that’s the case, 'cause I can NEVER find my squaddies. What’s even the point of emotes if you can only show 'em to strangers.

I mean, frustrating in a way to see WHAT it is, because it doesn’t make sense, but also now that I know - WHY is it the case that I cannot load into the mourningstar because I am “waiting for other players”?

because that’s how the dumb morningstar works, it tries to make a lobby of 16 players in a region. this is why you should use ‘Psych Ward’ mod to avoid this altogether by doing everything from operative select and setting end of round flags to send you to the operative select instead. you literally save yourself like 10+ minutes of loading per session easily this way.

Don’t forget, there’s still that 3rd party Vivox chat server in the mix and afaik that still can often cause slowdowns/hangs ?

as petty a thing as it is but “loading from disk”, spinning just as long as before if the loading glitch strikes again reads so wrong having tossed “disks” in a crate when 12+years ago i retired the last rig with an optical drive.
stay away from my m2 ssd with that stoneage console stuff

I always considered the Morningstar to be superfluous and mostly added to peddle cosmetics, and was vocally annoyed at the extra loading times when the game released, but to hear that it actually has me wait for other players before I can start into a random mission with random people that are not the people I just had to wait on? That’s certainly surprisingly irritating.
