Now that the game's got a strong playerbase, stop forcing me to join missions in progress

I do NOT want to join a mid-progress mission.
You do not have a choice in this FatShark. If you send me to an in-progress mission, I WILL leave and I WILL sit through extra load screens until I can get into a proper lobby.
Also STOP starting the lobby timer automatically. All players must vote to start prematurely before the timer begins, unless 4 players are present in the lobby, at which point you may start the countdown. If someone leaves, the countdown cancels.

This is the way things need to be. Stop forcing ADHD auto-starts and making me join missions in progress.

Joining missions in progress is FOR THE QUICK PLAY BUTTON ONLY.

I guess, you will not stay if you arrive mid game but you expect others to arrive mid mission, when you need another player… This sounds like so entiteled.

You have a fundamental lack of understanding for what I said AND you assume things.
People can still join mid-mission if they choose to click Quickplay.
Some people can opt-in, others can opt-out. And if someone leaves my mission, then that’s their fault and I don’t want FatShark to make someone unwillingly join a mid-mission team. I will finish the mission with 1 bot or leave for a new mission.

lol your post made me laugh. I’m gonna agree with the other poster. You sound entitled and it is definitely not a hill I would die on lol

If you are ok with backing out and finding a game you like, then just keep doing that.

No wonder FatShark doesn’t say anything to us. Posts like these

Yea lol no doubt

I can agree and I have asked for this as well.

I agree about the automatic lobby countdown too. For me, having at least 1 player start the timer would be an improvement.

The only thing that bothers me is loading into a you’ve failed the emperor screen.

I don’t know how to mitigate that tho.

I could see that being frustrating if it happened a lot.

I guess I just don’t have that experience so far? 9/10 games are lobby and I think I’ve spawned into a defeat screen maybe twice since closed beta? Definitely made me laugh when it happened like wtf lol

I guess the question for conversation/debate would be how do you replenish a team if a person quits or d/c’s? A 3 man team on auric or maybe even damnation would be also frustrating since you probably aren’t going to win. I’d also want the ability for someone to come in and help us out in those situations. Any ideas?

Agreed!

I’m not sure how the “search function” code could be written to accommodate their request and still accommodate my request to have people join my game if someone leaves🤪

I guess you could have a function to turn it “off” and “on”? Like if you turn it off then you can’t join in progress games and people can’t join your in progress games? I don’t care how frustrating loading into a death screen is, I would prefer how it currently is where people still join my games.

I think my first solution is to allow an option in the menu or the option to create a lobby while searching.

This way players can have some sway in what they prefer.

My second solution is to create a lobby browser like V2. For those that never played V2 the lobby browser displayed the player count (1/4) as well as the available classes and the mission in progress OR the lobby hasn’t chosen a game and is in Taal’s Horn Keep (town).

The second solution could replace Horn Keep with the generic lobby screen no problem. The issue is the countdown timer. My solution to the forced 1-minute start is to delay the countdown until 1 member, or majority choose ready. (V2 required all 4 btw)

Yea that sounds reasonable. I interpreted OP’s post that he didn’t want it for himself AND for everyone else (people joining his game). I guess they could use your 1st solution and just turn it off for you entirely (you joining games and people joining your games?). Seems fair I guess
