I mean… I think is important.
Cog power axes are pretty iconic aren’t they? Would have been nice to finally have power axe…
Omnisian axes are pretty big deals and markers of position inside the cult mechanicus
im not well versed in 40k cuz im honestly not interested in it and am just here for darktide
but i recall hearing from like a ton of different people who very much are that the iconic weapons people typically think of when thinking mechanicus tend to be ones limited to roles like tech priests, like omnisian axes like this one are for tech priests and tech marines only, meaning its not a skitarii weapon period.
just looking at the wiki this image is from, it states:
An Omnisian axe may never be bought or deliberately obtained – it is gifted only to Tech-priests and Techmarines by their superiors.
Yet another time WH shoots itself in the foot with how rigidly and seriously it takes it’s ridiculous lore. XD
Maybe we’ll get a Tech Priest/Adept later who will have access to the Axe, more so if they’re planning on doing 2 classes per year.
Though unlikely with the comment from the Devs.
But could still see Tech Adept at least (which toward DH lore, wouldn’t have Omnisian Axes; but did in Inquisitor Martyr/Prophecy)
I’m not bothered about the cog stuff as much as I am the Skitarii/Sicarian weapons they didn’t add like the flechette blaster, taser goad and radium carbine. Would nice to get them added eventually
I dunno, but I made sure to grab the cog trinket from the shop ^^
I did it too, hahahaha.
Flechette Blaster (also exist in larger variant on the Pteraxii): Basically shoot loads of flechettes with are able to home in on a target after a special flechette has hit it.
(Seeing what we know with the abilities, would be a tad difficult to make work well/feel special)
Taser Goad: Basically take the Shock Maul, but give it the animation/attacks of the Duel Swords.
Radium Carbine: Rifle that shoot irradiated bullets
Adeptus Mechanicus weapons look like pieces of art.
makes sense not to have it in the game then, like brunt could just be selling endless amounts of Grey omnissiah axes at the armory
Brunt hasn’t been there for forever
yeah he’s been back, but regardless, the weapon shop is called Brunt’s Armory, which is what I was referring to
I want him back.

Flechette Blaster with Special Action Button you could shoot a Primer that the whole Mag would shoot the same Target until its empty or dead. Easy!
Tech Adept is not off the Table, Priest are (so far)!
Priest are also in the Dark Heresy Pen & Paper, so FS wants to keep them close for a DT2 probably.
Tech Adepts dont use Onissian Axes either?! well, some have Drills as Arms but not all
Onissian Axe is a:
*Badge of Office
*Multitool (Repair Tool, Data Acces Key)
*Weapon
https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Tech_Adept
https://warhammer40k.fandom.com/wiki/Tech-Priest
Also in Space Marine 2 the Ship (Player Hub) is full of Tech Adepts holding Omnissiah Axes. SM2 is now famous for being very Lore Accurate as the Dev´s state over and over due to not implementing Stuff they are not allowed due to GW saying no
Tech Adepts maybe low Rank, but them using Axes as Tools and such as stated already is a No Brainer and is true. Making a Adept without woud be wrong. From the Classes that could come up next or at all, we dont have one Halberd Moveset from V2 in the Game so far. That bwould have been it.
Darktide is loosely on Dark Heresy yes i agree even though there is a Edition for it. One of the next Classes is probably a Kroot or a Corsair Eldari, since Corsair could be either a Drukhari or a Craftworld Eldar. More flexibility in the Weapon departement there. Also a possible Characters in Dark Heresy as are others. Doubt we see flying Characters though.
Most likely one of the next is Corsair since we are under Surveillance by a Eldar Ship in DT Lore. For Sisters we have a Shrine Word the protect, but we have Zealot already, so prolly not, or not soon since they are too similar.
Kroot is also high on the List. Ratling will prolly never happen since he would be a Meme. We have a Veteran and he can go Invisible. Like the most famous Traits for a Ratling. Well, not Invis exactly but Camouflage, next to stealing stuff from others.
Kroot is also a very flexible Character due to them taking Genes from other Living beings and adapting their Traits. Endless possibilities
There is no reason to think there will be a DT2.
From what I can see, those are Enginseers, so they would be (lower ranked) Tech Priests.
The only game that had Omnisian Axes on “Not a Tech Priest”
is Inquisitor Prophecy.
The issue is that if based on Dark Heresy, those aren’t playable, but as the Mourningstar and the game is made, I doubt we would see any Xenos (tbh, both as playable or enemy), as dlc scope wise, they’ve added at max 6 weapon families, and Xenos would probably not be allowed to use Imperial weapons, with their exclusive Xenos weapons having inverse problems where Hadron and Brunt wouldn’t be possible to work on it.
Ratling is already disallowed, same for Squat.
If we get 3 or 4 more classes it probably will be the followings:
- Something tied to the Sister of Battle
- Adept
- Beastman
- Normal Assassin (not Death Cult nor Officio)
*There is always a Reason to make a 2nd Game if it sells! V1/ V2
Could also just be another 40k Title or Warhammer Fantasy Title. Nobody said in the next few Years., Darktide wont be dead for a long time. I bet n the next Game will be Warhammer Fantasy again.
*Enginseers but not only. There are not only Enginseers and Servitors, makes no sense Bro
*It was Tech-Adept in Inquisitor Martyr. As you remember from others and mine Playable Class Wish list: Tech-Adept/ Tech Priest or from your own experience playing the Game. They used Voltaic Axe and Onissian Power Axe
Also i posted two Links for showing that Tech-Adepts use Axes aswell. But you “forgot that” it seems…
About Classes:
No Xenos is not nonsense as you would like it. Beastmen was the third Faction in V2, once again, Genestealer Cult was never denied as a 3rd Faction asn far as i know. It would bring a lot of People back to the Game and enrich The Lore and Gameplay in DT
First, how is a Beastmen different to a Xenos other than Subhuman or Gene manipulated Human counting as a Subhuman (dependinng on Lore or Fanfiction or Lore made Official by a Fan (Felinid).?!
Again we talk about Inquisition and not Astra Militarum or anyone else. They have “Resources”. Grendel also doesnt seem like the Monodominant Guy, more like a Xanthite if you look at the Cadre he has and we love and the Lorebits. He´ll use anything to Win!
All the Characters like “Kroot & Corsair” are playable Classes in Dark Heresy what are you talking about?! You even have Flying Eldar Swooping Hawk or a Scourge (Drukhari) to choose from. At least the Swooping Hawk i know of, since you can be a Drukhari you could be a Scourge aswell would make sense.
*Adept = At least we agree on Adept, well see
*Something tied to Sister of Battle, what does that mean? A Novice without Power Armor, already taken by Zealot. Penitence Engine… i wish
Ecclesiarchy Type Character (Dark Heresy) would be a:
*Cleric
*Adept/ Scholar
*Confessor/ Missionary
So they can fight with Faith & Firepower. It would definetly be hilarious to see that one can be more Zealous than a Zealot already in the Game. However some of the Subclasses are more Investigative rather than Frontline Combatants. Hierophant would be a Option copied from Inquisitor Martyr, doubt it aswell.
Possible but doubt it. Fair to say though, FS does what they want when it comes to Characters not really what the Community wants. Otherwise we had a Tech-Priest Magos end of June. Not that i wanna take away rom a lot of Skitarii Fans.
Fatshark takes the Path of least resistance, at least sometimes. We see it on Weapons releasing for free mostly. Except the Arc Mace for Skitarii. Neelder was a super Cool and Unique addition
What they wanna show is Characters tha nobody really did so far, for the most part
*Normal Assassin, what does that even mean? Out of the Picture, we have Premium Death Cult Assassin style Skin for Zealot, combined with throwing Knives they love as a Talent. We have a Veteran that can go Invis, what more Assassin Type do you want?
*Kroot = Sniper, Melee (Assassin if you will), Tank (can ingnore Wounds on TT)
What exactly would a Normal Assasin he bring to the Table we dont already have?
*Beastmen = Possible, but there you have a Kroot. Could havethe same Talents as they absorb their Enemies Skills and DNA. No reason for Beastmen as it would limit Builds. With Kroots you could explain everything easy peasy
*Officio Assassinorium woud be Epic and it would sell amazingly for Fatshark. Just the 4 most known ones of course. (Execution Force Tabletop Singleplayer/ Coop Game i have at Home)
Also i have the Dark Heresy Game from Owlcat Games. Ther is a Kroot as a playbale Character as is a Eldar Wayfinder and others.
Last Weekend my friends and i talked about the new Characters coming to DT. One has the Pen & Paper of Dak Heresy. So he used it in Conversation for hisidead of possible Characters
A Medicae Character would be also a really neat addition to Darktide
Not the same situation, VT1 was not really made with the expectation of dlc, while Vt2 was:
- Careers
- Revamped engine that let them add maps more easily
- Updated engine for weapons
- cosmetics to be sold
In Darktide, more of the systems were already made with the future updates in plans.
Those links give the Tech Adept the Omnisian Axes by sourcing Inquisitor Martyr…
Which is know to play loosey goosey with the lore (eg: Blank being able to launch a beam or sort)
And can easily be made into allied faction for the original alliance (More so with Vermintide being set in the End Time, and chaos being made to work together for the Everchosen)
At the moment nothing even hint toward a 3rd faction being in the work. So none were disallowed, while only the Orks had marked and announced interest by the Devs.
Beastmen (or Felinid or any other Abhuman) would easily be made to use the same weaponry as the current ones, with like the Scum, having certain weapons that make slightly less sense to be worked upon by Hadron.
On the other hand, Xenos, like an Eldar, a Kroot, a Tau or other groups that are explicely not Imperial would make less sense with such weapons in their hands, both from an Imperial stand point, but also for the Xenos stand point
There are ways to make them differences between a Zealot and a Sister, Dark Heresy does it by having Sisters be a 2nd Psyker using its own talents and own balancing system
I’ll post a thread about it in a couples of day (depending on how much time I have this week)
Basically this, they’re meant to be played as the ranged specialist in Dark Heresy, would I be in favour of it, no.
But they’re a thing in Dark Heresy
Look at the 3 dlc classes, you get 6 weapons, imperial classes can easily use shared weapons, would GW allow Kroots to use Imperial weapons, or would they be stuck on their 6 weapons. And would GW allow Fatshark having Hadron work on those weapons.
Honestly, nothing that I would see right now, unless they take things from Rogue Trader, Blade Dancer and such things
Beastmen is easier to explain, is more easily given shared weapons, more uniform…
Quite too big in power, and each would basically need their own class, with one already causing problem from being a Blank
Where they’re not nameless army of them…
