technically don’t transonic blades come in all shapes and forms? i remember reading references about halberds and axes being made with this technology

i feel like we could’ve done better than just another collection of swords and a shock maul tbh. taser goad was described on, then removed from the steam store page, that alone would’ve been a far more unique melee weapon

The main ones are Sword, Razor (Dagger), and Chord Claw.

the Mechanicum novel mention a Transonic Glaive but never mentioned in 40k, and never seen or used elsewhere.

In theory the other types of Transonic weapon do probably exist, but I would guess that GW would prioritize weapons that are seen in codex and stuff

However Hadron is written very openly to a degree which could give some Loopholes. We will see with SKitarii how open she actually is. I say know we wont hear anything specific about her tendencies to either Purist or Heretek. Skitarii Primus Rules were bend for this Game to release them also. Skitarii Primus were a thing, they kinda Vanished since they had a SKitarii Marhsall and know they came back as a “Specialist or Special Forces Character”.

Not all Xenos have hyper Advanced Weapons as the Eldar do. In Dark Heresy it also doesnt seem to be a problem with Logistics when it comes to Ammo. A Shuriken Pistols has technically a MASSIVE Amount of Ammo in the thousands in one Magazin, if you know how to use it. Depicted on Horus Heresy Book with “Damon Prytanis” iiRC. He was a Human Perpetual Assassin for the Cabal. He was gifted this Pistols i think by Gau Dah. He even showed him how to use them, there is a techniqu to it so you wont spend the whole mag in seconds. If you are in a Warband you come prepared, why else would they recruit you if you cant think ahead that much?!

Kroot use Ballistic based Weaponry no? Some Energy based and i dont mean Tau Weaponry, but specific Kroot Weapons. Some made Hybrid with Tau Techonology, thats fair. Still not a hinderance

Kroot/ Tau Technology is neither ahead of Imperials, neither is a problem for AdMech to understand. No Issues there.

That is just flapping for a Counterargument when there is none. I was very specific with which Xenos i meant to be added to the Game (Heresy Rules applied). Getting Resources for your Warband in form of Ammo is a no Brainer if you recruit that kinda Power. You want them to use with what they are comfortable. Inquisitors reach is long if not infinte. As i said already and you left it out. Grendel is definetly not a Monodominant. Half his most trusted Waband Officers are Heretic or Borderline Heretic from teh View of the Imperium itself!

Powerlevel wise they are on the same playte to an extent depending on the Temples. Obvioulsy i talk about Callidus, Eversor and Culexus. Vindicare not so much since they use Infiltration and Sniper Rifles

So i checked: Ordo Sicarius is what you referring, to. AS WOULD BE Death Cult Assassins. Carrer Path for Dark Heresy both.

IMHO just give the Vindicare Sniper Rifles out and leave it be. We have Guardsmen Skilltree already. No need for a Assassin Class separetly. It would be a very boring choice indeed and something w already have, again. Skins you can do Premium.

If you Quote me then show all of it, not only what serves your argument right or wrong!

For VT1, there were 2 type of Dlc content:

  • Maps (10 in 4 dlc)
  • Weapons (6 in total)

But VT2 was able to do much more, with alongside maps (which later became free content only), modes (Though one released as free after the less than illustrious reception of the preceding), weapons (instead of 1 or 2 a pack, 5 weapons, one per character), and most importantly, the Dlc Careers.

And for Darktide, while they angled toward the paid cosmetics in a 1st option, they did plan to sell subclasses and do sell classes.

I mentioned the Beastmen toward post launch enemy faction, not in the sense of adding Beastmen as playable class. Which served to highlight the difference between those and the GSC (ie: Beastmen were “easy” to explain working alongside the Skaven or Norscan >< GSC can’t really work alongside the Dreg/Scab)


That still leave the issues of Shared weapons, which yes a Xenos class could be made that is not using any shared weapon, but seeing the set scope of the previous classes (Arb: 4; Scum: 6; Skit 6?), I wouldn’t expect any class that can’t be able to use weapons that are already there.

I would accept the caveat that they could plan a couple of classes (Eg: Warlock + Harlequin + Ranger) where they have access to a shared pool, which would expand the dlc scope that we see.

1st, could you point where I have said that Tech Priest should not be a class in Darktide ? Cause I don’t remember having said that, I have previously said that Tech Adept would be more work-able due to the narrative employment of the player character compared to Tech Priests, but I did not say that Tech Priest as a whole are forcibly stronger than what we get.

As for Assassinorum, if we are looking at the same thing that is the Officio.

  • 1st of, which one are we considering/aiming for ? Would you say that it is possible to cover multiple/all of the Temples (which mind you have a Blank one, and another that is so full of combat chems that they’re incoherent).
  • 2nd of, Officio Assassins are very expensive lorewise, all tied to the Temples back on Terra and lent to various operations as needed
  • 3rd, Officio Assassins are often sent on their own to kill the heads of Cults or organisations that the Temples have been asked to deal with.

So yes, I would say that Officio Assassinorum are at base much stronger than what we see here.

No I would not say that the lower strata of Tech Priest are too strong, nor would I say that the lower strata of Sister would be.

I’m not suggesting to add a Tech Priest Dominus nor a Canoness.

Have said before in other threads that they could do something about the Adept, but that they would have to lean on some of its various advances to really find bases for gameplay (Reliquary; Deamonine Seeker; Loremaster…).

Which is from where ? I would assume it is a sub type of Adept.

That would depend entirely on how they balance it.

That is called thinking ahead. I’ve seen quite a few people mentioning Power Creep as a be all and end all.

Certainly we can see that Sister can be way to over powered, but the Dark Heresy games did consider them to be able to be balanced alongside the normal classes. So that mean that GW did accept them as possibly be such.

Ordo Sicarius aren’t Death Cults. They’re Assassins that were created by, for, and from the Inquisition. From Dark Heresy, while they’re accessible to most classes (Except maybe Psyker ? forgot), their outlook and lore does not make them into a Death cult, if anything, it’s a fake Officio Assassin.

Honestly I was expecting them to do Enforcers either as a branch for certain classes (Zealot and Psykers), but then they sold them as cosmetics…

I would be quite interested in seeing a source for non-Necromundan Spyrer, cause while it is correct that the armour aren’t made by the Necromundan people (Constructed off-world) it has never been linked to something specific nor to something that is mentioned anywhere else (iirc, there was some implied nods toward the Spyrer tech being the base of the tech that the gangs uses, Goliath; Esher; Delague and Van Saar, but that’s not been in quite a long time).

So you’re suggesting to have classes that have a total of 6 weapons :person_shrugging:

Owl Cat’s game expand to what the base Rpg games uses, but it is also much easier there to add weapons that are specific for select character than here (Fps vs TBS)

By the Beastmen being commonly used by the Imperium both in past and current lore ? And being made to use Imperial weapons…

so I suppose it’s “Tau and Imperium” ? Do you know the Imperium ? Do they often save Xenos ?

Basically:

Rogue Trader & Dark Heresy → Play as a Rogue Trader or Inquisitor and their close retinue

Darktide → Play as the nameless mooks that are thrown as the 1st line against the cult

Then find a source.

Rogue Trader does allow the ability to play certain Xenos iirc, but Dark Heresy TT did not have rules for playable Xenos at all (there were some Xenos weapons though.
