i agree, it’s not flawless, the horde music looping (presumably because some horde units get stuck somewhere) and music going silent are issues that need fixing.
Wait, the game still only uses 2 channels? Lolwhat.
A great deal of games do. Surround sound headsets are terrible
I would say it’s a part of attention and just to be sneaky…
-
Like someone told above, a gutter runner sit on him… so they dont make noises when they fly… - spawn, instajump, gg
-
Same works for hookrat in any times…
I never had issues with special sounds before and after the patch. Exclude the hookrat into horde and the blightstormer bug with the Patch.
But why should i hear a sneakrat while i slay a horde of enemies? It’s more a mistake from the whole team (or solo-ppl) there if somebody dies to hookrat + horde. The most ultimates cancel or kill the hookrat and if you stay together and slay swiftly , the HR should die instant, even like a gutter runner.
I dont think it’s about an audio issue, it’ s more like "i feel betrayed from the game, because…
""I cant solo everything , because… " issue… Yeah it’s sick to get downed from specials, because you didnt mention it in any way. But i’m pretty sure that nearly every “might be a bug”- thing in this game, is avoidable through skill and teamplay.
Oh, boohoo, cry me a river and play the victim card. I am not attacking you because you are “contrarian” and I certainly don’t “like” it, I am calling you out on your load of bull that has no basis other than your subjective perception of what simply MUST be the reason for people not being able to hear specials and hordes. Audio problems have been reported since day one and what your whole argument is based on the assumption people just want to cover their mishaps by claiming they don’t hear anything.
I don’t know, remember when blighstormers and their storms were silent for, like, EVERYONE before they threw out a hotfix? And now they sound like robots? I do certainly do.
So you’re telling me it’s sooooo far out that people might have problems with the audio in this oh so bug-free game?
That makes sense. Virtualised 5+.1+ sound still has a bit of a way to go.
think i’ve stated several times that i’m giving feedback for my personal experience with countless legend games (people not know how to listen), never have i said that it’s THE reason that people are having issues with the sound, but sure go ahead believe what you will.
of course, it obviously broke in a recent patch and had to be hotfixed in, i’ve stated before that the audio mixing for them feels kinda bad now, as u call it, robotic. i didn’t mention those because those were clearly bugged and fixed.
maybe u need to re-read my posts. i encourage people to look at things from all perspectives and i also provide my own (i’ve even provided a video which clearly shows me tracking all specials especially packmasters even in a wailing horde). i’ve also posited that it could be different hardware issues that might be causing the difference in reports (which was also shut down by someone harshly)
i’m arguing this passionately because i don’t want the audio cues to change to become TOO obvious until it absolutely breaks the subtlety in assassins and packmasters, it’s kinda their thing. but of course, i don’t want it to be too difficult at the same time which is going to frustrate people.
Yeah, from yesterday experience I assume that assassin cue overlap makes packmaster silent.
You’re misrepresenting my words there. I didn’t say “I feel like there’s no audio,” I was elaborating on what I suspect to be the culprit in regards to what’s causing the game to sometimes have no audio for a lot of enemies/attacks. The fact that there’s often zero audio for a variety of things isn’t up for debate given that packrats, leaches, gutter runners, and even normal mobs and elites are all frequently mute. You can have an entire horde soundlessly pop into existence 5ft behind you. A 300lb champion or armoured puss-daddy can sprint at you without making a peep. The game’s audio is utterly inconsistent. Backstab alerts still hardly ever work. Bosses probably have the fewest audio issues but even they can spawn w/o their music.
Said 300lb chaos knights and armoured, steroided New York rats can fall 3 storeys without making a sound too.
BTW you forgot to mention plague monks cue. They screaming now only when they wind up their attack kkkombo
Still completely missing the point. This whole fiasco is about people not being able to hear specials at all. Nobody argues about things being too audible, it is about the core mechanics working as they should. Your precious subtlety has nothing to do with that. It is not about difficulty, it is about being able to properly hear danger. It has already been officially stated that gutter runner cues playing from different directions is intentional. Okay, fine by me, but it still has to play in advance.
I am also not arguing about different perspectives, but yours is simply none. You are just stabbing in the dark and are still just trying to make this about skill. As Avar said, no audio playing is not up for debate, no matter how hard you try, it is a fact that it happens, it has been reported since day one. Q.E.D., silent blightstormers in the latest patch. I can totally understand that you don’t want your game to be affected by changes, but you contribute nothing to this other than coming over as aloof and condescending. Maybe that’s not your intention, but that’s the vibe I’m getting (and apparently, I’m not the only one). People just want to be able to properly play the game. If you know anything about hardware being the issue and whatnot (of course it HAS to be something), then please do tell us. But so far, your “perspective” has contributed nothing to this problem.
The absolute worst thing for me in regards to audio is not being able to hear that one fanatic/slave rat behind me.
Number one reason for me taking damage in Legend. Even with constant “block checking” behind.
I know there is a lot of variance for people but other specials I am able to pick out approx 90% of the time.
I’ve checked my back, turned around, then done another immediate 180 to see the director pop a trash mob into play out of thin air about to attack me from behind. The fact backstab warnings don’t work makes this even more asinine.
Also: Invisible enemies.
They somehow glitch too close to a wall and become invisible.
I had a Shade getting knocked down by that right in front of me. Slasing at thin air/the wall revealed the devious rat, but that is pretty damn unfair.
Same happens to me sometimes. Getting hit and turning just to see… nothing… stuck in the floor/wall/dwarf arse fanatic.
Ha! I actually had the wall thing happen the other day. It was different from the invisible/stealthed enemies in that I could hear it the entire time, so I was super confused, then a slave rat just walked clean through the brick boundary wall on Halescourge XD
Am I the only one hearing so many audio clues that I think there are more specials in my legend games than there actually are?
Thats probably host cpu related problem. Same as when horde flying through the walls
I use a virtual surround headset with Dolby works perfectly since your optimizations.
Edit: virtual surround only uses 2 channels as well sooo…
