New weapons ,enemies ideas

Since the recent official news about fatshark actually working on something i got another spark of hope and i looked at some weapons or enemies that could be introduced this year

Just to clarify its been said that these will be new weapons not marks heres proof:

WEAPONS:

Accatran Pattern Mark VIII Meltagun

-would make sense since we have accatran lasguns
-for either veteran(since veteran uses accatran lasguns) or for zealot(cuz he uses flamers) or simply for both
-could work similar to plasma gun+burning effect or smth+armor penetration
Ia11-101-accatran-meltagun

Sacristan Bolt Pistol

-lore wise used by Inquisition (produced under secret license for the agents of the Inquisition’s Ordos in the Calixis Sector)
-no need to explain how it would work
-for veteran,zealot

(Pic of the bolt pistol this one was based on)

kronos mark 3 pattern plasma pistol

-“this sophisticated plasma pistol is offered for sale by the Mechanicus weaponsmiths”
-for veteran
Kroos_Plasma_Pistol

Triplex pattern lasgun

-for veteran,zealot,psyker
-capable of different fire modes(accurate single fire or auto)

Galaxy pattern lasgun

-similar to kantrael lasgun
-for veteran,psyker
500px-StandardLasgun

M40 armageddon pattern autogun:

-12round slug magazine
-for veteran,zealot,psyker
M40_Armageddon_Pattern

Ripper pistol

-It fires specially designed armour-piercing rounds containing a vicious cocktail of venomous chemicals
-for zealot
RipperPistolRogueTrader

Vos mark11 autopistol
-fast firing autopistol,not very accurate
-for zealot,psyker
Voss_Autopistol

Ogryns could get powerfists or some double handed meele weapons,as for psykers…i really couldnt find anything mby some different force sword dont think a force Hammer or axe would fit psykers

ENEMIES:

Plague bearers:
-tanky version of poxwalkers, would emmit corruption
-already kinda teased ingame
-would make sense to add

IMG_20240313_142141

Rotflies
-lore wise used by lesser deamons as means of transport
-a flying enemy(as the name implies(lol)
-idk if it would really fit

Nurglins:
-fast and weak
-spawns in packs

Rogue Psykers:
-those could have been the psyker enforcers gone insane
-ranged attacks, mby capable of generating shields for the scabs, dregs

Dreg grenadier
-instead of flame nades could be toxic nades or smth

Plague Space marine
-this one is probably very controversial cuz it would be kinda funny that 4 rejects would take down a space marine
-could work as a endgame boss or just a type of deamonhost enemy(wont attack until attacked or until it notices u)
-would be tanky as hell, emits corruption+some nasty ass debuffs

I don’t think those would work as Monster without horrendous clipping issues.

But for a Lord fight why not

And no SM

Nice list op. I’ll just add, that if 4 humans can kill a chaos spawn, plague ogrin, thousands of shooters and maulers, take a poxwalker touch and leave unscathed, i think they could easily take a plague marine, especially in a boss fight.

As for me, i’d like a genestealers cult as a new enemy. Maybe tyranid termagaunts as a horde trash unit.

We could kill a CSM, no issue

But not having any SM of any sort is a good design choice that doesn’t need to change.

And new chaos Cults > GSC (+ Termagaunt aren’t GSC, and Tyranids wouldn’t make much sense in this game, but will be the main opponent of SM2)

I don’t see new Chaos Cults being added unless Fatshark decides to make the entire Moebian Domain really catch fire.

My idea id like to bring back in is a new veteran blitz called “sidearm” a powerfull pistol carried in the grenade slot (possibly a plasma pistol? Bolt pistol?) That carried a few shots…between maybe 3 to 6. It costs one charge to fire and can re refilled by anything that currently affects grenades. Ie: a grenade pickup fills it or you regen one every 60 seconds with perk

I’m not saying they should add a SM or CSM of any sort, all i’m saying is that not adding one because it wouldn’t make sense because of lore, wouldn’t make sense in darktide.

As for new chaos cult > genestealers cult, that is like only your subjective opinion, as is mine saying genestealer cult would make as much perfect sense in hive city as having a new chaos cult, except it would add more diversity in sense of completely new enemy units to fight, other than just reskin of the already existing ones.

Termagaunts was just a suggestion for poxwalkers replacement, considering genestealer cults worship hive mind as a godlike being, story of them smuggling tyranid eggs into the depths of hive could be realistic.

Also we are talking about fatshark, who made skaven and warriors of chaos work together in v2. Cant see any reason why chaos and gestealer cult couldnt work as well, except for yours “nah, my idea is better”.

Love it!!!

4 local cults all trying to get the same thing isn’t unheard of in lore, where they “help” each other against the major force. Having the 3 each being introduced in their own “season”, being local cults that see the instability in the Hive and choosing to join the fray to try to convert the world to their own ways.

I would see something like that on a Tech Adept, with a Phosphor Blast Pistol (as they are as much debuffing as they are damage), but with the caveat of having it regain some ammo on normal ammo packs.

For a new Vet branch, I’d see the Hotshot (Hellgun’s current name) being used as such in a similar manner to how VT2’s Outcast Engineer.

GSC don’t have access to Termaguants (the only Tyranids that aren’t always with the Hive are the Lictors), and Termagaunts would not be equal to Poxwalker, if they would be added with GSC they would be elites, at the very least.

Except that Skaven did work lorewise with Chaos. Even moreso with the End Time

I see the Meltagun mentioned often as a desire for future updates, but to put them in context of the game…what role would such a weapon serve in Darktide? Especially next to a Plasma Gun?

Darktide plays at a very small scale for the 40k universe. The biggest meanest monsters are Plague Orgyn, Chaos Spawn, and Traitor Guard captains with Refractor Fields. These are, by tabletop 40k standards, basically large infantry. Everything else in the game is a Guardsman or Cultist (T3 W1 with a 5+ or 6+ sv)

Meltaguns aren’t typically noted as being the most efficient tools against such targets. If you’re playing tabletop 40k and are told you’re facing a tide of guardsmen, cultists, and spawn, you probably wouldn’t bring a single Meltagun. There’s nowhere for the Meltagun’s advantages to be put to use, no heavy vehicle armor or large monsters. Against infantry targets, even relatively large infantry targets, a Plasma Gun is going to do the same job with twice the range and twice the rate of fire.

As far as Darktide goes, a weapon that massively overkills 99% of stuff in the game with a slow rate of fire and terrible range doesn’t sound like it would be particularly fun or fill a useful role.

The other problem is that Meltagun kinda requires you to stand still which is a death sentence in Darktide.

Why/how would a Melta gun force you to stand still ?

Melta gun are a supped up Plasma gun, so the easiest thing to do with them is to make them a Beam weapon, which has a very dangerous heat generation speed and less range

One enemy I’m surprised we haven’t seen is one akin to the Standard Bearer that the Beastmen had.

Make it a Priest of the Admonition or something; he channels, maybe even floats into the air slightly and buffs his nearby allies. I imagine him being Infested armor type, with a health pool similar to a Sniper. But perhaps he gets a damage resistance once he starts channeling.

One tweak I’d love to see would be if you let them live too long and channel for too much time there’s a chance they turn into a Weakened Chaos Spawn.

Make it a Bilepiper and it’ll be much more awesome

Have it affect only Poxwalker or unarmoured enemy parts and making them become Unyielding when in close area with it

GSC do not have Termas but they would NOT be considered elites in the slightest. The only thing good about them is their guns, besides that they are some of the chaffiest chaff of all time. Even a GSC Neophyte is more durable than they are, even if they have a less powerful gun.

Either melee Neophytes or acoylte hybrids with only their hands and claws would be the best choice for some sort of chaff, and for everythjng else GSC have options, if maybe lacking in options for boss fights unless they add lots of humanoid bosses for them.

If they have an equal to Poxwalker/Groaner, they would most easily have to write upon the Kissed, as it would have the same backing, Civies that are under control of the cult to act as their meat shield

They are then impregnated with a portion of the creature’s own biomass, delivered under the skin via a ribbed tube called an ovipositor. This process is known as the “Genestealer’s Kiss.” The resultant parasitism alters the infected’s body until the xenos taint runs throughout. It also alters the mind, forcing the victim through a bioneural psychic connection to revere the Genestealer as a messianic figure, the idol of an obsessive new religion.

I would imagine that “kissed” would be a groaner equivalent while unarmed and unarmored Neophytes or Hybrids would be the Walker equivalent, as they are supposed to be the more threatening if the 2.

Random note is I wonder how corruption would work with them, or if it’ll get a hand wavey response and any mutant/alien attack would cause corruption.

Don’t do it, Aryslav, I don’t what half these are and I don’t wanna hafta google “spudjacker”
