Before I could parse the results, I noticed the “AI Overview” and decided to take a look.

I would like to discuss this. I for one would very much like an “Electroflail” or “Chainflail”. The latter sounds like they just put a chainsaw on a chain.
My guess? The AI Scraped a ton of different, disparate sources (Some not even about Darktide, but only tangentially related, like Vermintide) And was “smart” enough to distinguish the vague notion of a “Darktide Weapon” but since its not actually drawing from one source of truth, it just randomly guessed based on how often these names appeared in the subsequent search results.
(Probably a ton of Reddit “They should add this weapon to the game” threads)
Google’s AI is the kid in class who tries to avoid plagiarism allegations by copying their homework from multiple students. Doesn’t even ask, just rifles through bookbags for anything that looks close enough to the assignment, and doesn’t even read them entirely before copying.
The thing is that those staves most likely either need to be rekitted (Beam staff, to avoid cases of Wigglemancer), and/or reskinned/remodelled.
For example, Bolt staff doesn’t really work well with Pyromancy in 40k (Piercing Bolts of Burning in BF), but could work quite well if reskinned in Biomancy (Stormlance, and Smite).
While Beam staff ought to have the beam be part of the charged/channelled attack instead of the light one
Using Kerillian’s Deepwood staff could work too, for the charged part, as Telekinesis has “lift” in its basic abilities (Though also want 2 or 3 different weapons that use Telekine as part of their kit)
For sure, it’s not a 1:1, but they could still use these as a good starting point and save themselves some effort. I know the Trauma staff is pretty much a port, for instance. And I know you’d prefer unique staffs, but I’ll take the reworked old ones if its that or nothing.
Oh no, I would love to have Bolt staff, even as a 1 to 1 port.
But I think that lore precedence is something that FS has to use to be able to use (Eg: Assail is based on Spiteshard, from the Navis Primer, but given the name of Assail, another techniques cause Spiteshard are Rogue Psyker technique and Assail isn’t) to implement weapons.
If it works it works! There is no reason to throw away good ideas just because they have been done before just look at the souls games they are all the same and people (myself very much included) love them.
