New player perspective all the terrible things I've notice that made it into the game

Brunts Armory
its missing a Curios option where we the players can choose the three different kinds.
also, the RNG on the stats needs to go let players choose the stat distrabution. we get to choose which weapon we get after all. I think we the players want an actual crafting sytem in the game and not a one-armed bandit gambling system. I know about the upcoming changes and it needs this has well.
RNG = loot box Bad and your promoting gambling.

Grims
punishing the entire squad for someone picking these up without equal compensation is a heretical idea and should burn in holy fire or chucked into a black hole. the xp and ordo docket bonus is pocket lint compared to the increased difficulty removing wounds and the damage/corruption over time that it incurs. what would be equal compensation is 666 plasteel for each grim picked up at the end of the mission with a 6x multiplier to ordo dockets, plasteel and diamantine mission rewards.
reasonable fix: remove the corruption alltogether or remove the corrupting effects from those not carrying it.

Plasteel and Diamantine
this currency system is atrocious, trash, dross and all the animals dung you can think of its like fatshark meant to sell players plasteel for real world money and decided not to and didn’t fix the sytem. I’ve looked up what these are and they are common building and manufacturing materials. yes they are useful for keeping things going but it doesn’t make any sense to have the system be like it is.
the fix: mechanicus credits, they do what plasteel and diamantine already do but it’s now just one currency. 1 plasteel = 1 mechanicus credit, 1 diamantine = 5 or more mechanicus credits.

Ammo being a variable stat on weapons
I don’t know why every weapon needs to have 5 variables maybe its time for them to only have 4 or none.
not even the Imperium of Man is that stupid to make more than 1 variation of a magazine. you have the right idea with the bolt weapons so far and that is how it should be across all the weapons with magazines.
Fix: for now just drop ammo has a variable and just give them the largest magazines and reloads the current system allows rounded down to the nearest full magazine.

the action on firearms should not need to be manipulated if there is still at least one round in the firearm.
I have no idea what your firearm situation is like wherever fatshark is but go to a firing range and see for your self.
Fix: only have the action on the firearm be a part of the reload animation if the firearms magazine is dry.

while grims aint popular for various reasons, by the time you’re fit enough to play auric maelstrom you wouldn’t even mind them much.

if by a miracle i’m bored enough to go penance hunting in the next couple weeks vacation, i might get some if they come with HISTG (honestly havent checked the conditions in ages)

other than that i don’t really see any incentive stepping down, be it penances or mats.

when i was in my malice-damnation phase grims were a thing to consider, though keep in mind people pick that modifier on their own accord.

not wanting to wait for a map to return without the mod isnt an excuse in my book.

but as i got comfortable in HISTG and ultimately auric maelstrom, grims were little nuisance if anything.

so yeah, i miss an additional mechanic for adding a bit more risk/reward no matter the extraction object in question.

skulls are neat but rarely people actively cooperate to get them, having single player objects of choice i’d prefer.

Thank God they don’t have that in Auric Mael so now I don’t have to deal with this stupid poop.

Grims do need fixing. Auric players can handle the increased difficulty but no one ever bothers because grim contracts can be rerolled and the reward otherwise is a piddly amount of basic credits that isn’t worth the increased risk of death.

I was nodding along to all these as reading. New player though … hmmmm :wink:

Grimoires and scripts - they fitted in VT2, I don’t believe they do 40k years later.
Weapon stats - agree, I’ve made several posts in the past. Or at least make them meaningful in the 60-80 range rather than lvl 60 being 5 dodges, and 80 being 5 dodges.

Maybe a lot of these are a case of having to make some hard choices approaching launch day, then never quite being able to justify the resource to revisit them.

Eh, heresy is heresy.
It is kind of silly though that you can find heretical books lying around randomly on the factorum floor near molten lava and such. A handful of fixed spawn points would perhaps be better for this kind of thing.

What doesn’t fit the 40k millennium even more are jumping puzzles.

yeah I’m brand new not even a month of owning and playing the game got the 4 classes to 30 and is barely comfortable in difficulty 4. I may have some hours behind my account now because this game has all the rest of mine neglected but still new.

The fix to grims is running a cleansing zealot on your team. They’ll keep the corruption in check. Or just don’t run those missions. If you quickplay into them, then I guess deal with it, you’re getting hazard pay.
