Whos idea was it to introduce a new set of penance cosmetics but make them so bad? From tier 1 to tier 4 its just a bunch of random rags and bits and bobs, with the last “elite” tier looking like you fell into a clothes recycling facility and stole all the accessories from the local hobo. The previous set of penances build you up from a convict to an almost regal looking elite acolyte (except Ogryn sadly)
the new ones are an eyesore and a waste of inventory space. Can this company do anything right?
yeah they should have just been earnable in game from the start through the armoury
I’m pretty sure the new stuff is meant for new players that start from scratch.
I would find it cool, if I just started the game to get better looking stuff over time to get something else than the prison garb.
For people like us (probably) that have been playing for a while they are just mostly worse looking.
Probably an addition in advance to the console launch.
One of the veteran tops is pretty nice. I also like the zealot tops for being a lot less extra than literally everything else zealot gets.
The new cosmetics are cool and I like them, they just should have been in the game from the start so we’d get some sense of visual progression as we rank up and unlock them.
It doesn’t really make narrative sense for a rank 30 freshly official Inquisition agent to be rewarded with rags, but it works if you’re rank 1-10 freed convict and still proving yourself. I’m over it by now but it would have been cool to experience that as it was probably intended. Really just shows how unfinished the game still is.
My vet penance cosmetics have my teammates constantly shooting at me. It’s pretty funny.
I like the new cosmetics for the most part, at least the top level ones. They should make adding new penances for this sort of stuff a regular thing.
I think it would have been more appropriate if these penances and their cosmetics had been the first batch we had on launch and then have the second batch only unlock for earning upon getting level 30 trust. That way we would actually look like paroled penal soldiers until our full admission into the extended retinue whereupon we could start to wear whatever we want, not just things with restraints in case we start acting up.
This would have made sense but they probably didn’t end up going with this because with the state they ended up releasing the game in it would have been insanely bad PR. Imagine if the only unlockable cosmetics for the first few months were modified prison rags and a couple of ratty leather jackets while the premium shop is staring you in the face every time you go to buy new gear. Probably the only thing they could have done that would have made the Mourningstar mechanics feel more like they were ripped from a mobile game.
I like the zealot top that just looks like a normal blue t-shirt with a scarf. It’s so ordinary that it loops around to being edgy again. Now finally my character can slum around in a t-shirt and sweat pants, just like me
That one and the other one with the more priestly looking scarf are great, pair very well with the older baggy pants. I do wish zealot had a few tighter pairs of pants that weren’t flashy. I’d have also liked a version of the tops we’re talking about that have a bit of chainmail underneath the shirts, like you can see the sleeves of it poking out or something.
