Actually excellent suggestions
and yet fatshark seems adamant in adding âflashyâ new havoc stuff to battle the overdialed values characters and weapons got right now, when right under their noses the base game provides all one craves in darktide/40k/fps.
almost like blessings, talents, perks and any other mmo fluff shouldnt have been there from the start and a pure skill based quake-like approach would have offered plenty of challenge at minimal dialing of the enemy scale/health ![]()
yeah i like my bullrush on my ogryn, but at the same time this now interwoven slide/attack that is mandatory to engage the gunner hordes and survive is the âwrong kindâ of fast paced.
rather up the run speed but i didnt pick ogryn to play
and even the pace of this feels ârightâ in comparison
âSweats arenât these super gamers or darktide only players, they are just players that took the time to learn the combat system vs button smashing.â Anyone who puts in hundreds of hours of game time, this can apply too.
Also, my entire point behind the argument was all these people claim Havoc is easy are the same ones who play absolutely broken builds and play with insane mods bordering the lines of actual cheating. I will MAINTAIN that playing with randoms 8/10 times is much more difficult than playing with a premade group. RANDOMS can literally change the entire outcome of a game unless you are playing a build that is actually completely broken. Majority of links here have been either A: Broken build/crazy mods. B: Premium Deluxe P2W class or C: Hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of attempts to be saying âwow itâs easy nowâ yeah, i am sure those hundreds of hours it took you to achieve that was âeasyâ.
I still havenât seen any videos of people hopping into Havoc with randoms and completing the game, EASILY. Just a WHOLLEEEE lot of talk about âits so easy to play with randoms I donât do it anymoreâ yet absolutely no proof once so ever.
There are lots of videos on YouTube of random havoc 40 go search it up, if youâd like when I get time Iâll record a random group on Hong Kong servers (closest but play style is different than na/Europe).
Why people say havoc is easy is golden toughness. Gunners are so overturned every group has to build into invulnerability.
Premades are the only groups not doing the meta. But the average auric player which most players will get to can play good enough to pass a havoc 40 just by staying with their team itâs not a difficult thing to pass, itâs a DPS check and a toughness check, sometimes you will get impossible rng so you just reque, but calling havoc 40 difficult is a stretch.
Most people want more weapons capable of havoc 40 because of the DPS check not a skill check. So why play havoc? More boss fights and different modifiers to changeup the gameplay not just a difficulty thing.
If they got rid of toughness or made it only apply to range attacks it wouldnât matter if some weapons are overturned the player base would immediately start failing aurics, damnations, heresy and malice becuase the current state everyone is tanky and the player base just skips the fatshark gameplay by shield right now more so than damage
the endgame vermintide community absolutely does and I know many H40 players who do.
not to be dismissive, but yeah kinda lol.
Yes and Good, respectively.
Iâm here for the intrinsic joy of engaging in a fantastic combat sandbox while going on an adventure to challenge and delight myself in the chaos that ensues. Extrinsic motivators fundamentally break that, and the less of them Darktide has, the better.
Itâs precisely what people are playing for, it was the same in VT2 Cata and CW (cata).
It was universally understood nobody was playing Cataclysm for loot or anything other than the challenge and the fun of working together to beat the cool ass-maps with cool-ass characters; we had a blast there and we do here (mostly).
I assume sarcasm since, thatâs ultimately why we all play video games in general yes?
And this ladies and gentlemen is why darktide need a separate client that allows for game play mods
no I mean the objective of these communities is to constantly push the challenge higher and higher and the reward is in the gameplay and overcoming said challenge, nobody at this level cares about acquiring extrinsic rewards in the form of cosmetics and such.
Iâve ran multiple VT2 tournaments where prizes are on offer but thatâs an exception where itâs to add some spice and incentive to participating in a âcompetitiveâ setting and even then people really donât care about the prizes 99% of the time and just play for fun and challenge.
DLC keys, warhammer and vermintide merch/vouchers, special in-game frames
really itâs whatever we could crowdsource and provide ourselves+stuff that fatshark was willing to help us with, nothing super monetarily valuable but also some of the stuff (like the in-game frames) did have âstreet credâ type of value, so to speak.
Really though the biggest motivator for participants has always been getting a high score and having that acknowledged/highlighted
A hot date with @Incandescent, value, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder.
Canât work in Darktide, no community for it
Why would Fatshark create another game mode? We should not recreate Weaves.
if we get another mode before at least 4 more maps you will find me swinging crazy style from my ceiling fan
Fatshark is like there own version of left 4 dead. Players play it for fun, there doesnât need to be a reward for everything no a days. Just play the mission you find fun with teammates or randoms and just enjoy the game.
If you want a score board than download the mod, having a score board doesnât do much for this style game. Every game with a high score leader bored is just cheaters or cheesers leader boards arenât worth having in a coop game
The solution is giving yourself a handicap not wasting another 3 month dev cycle on something nobody will actually play.
IDK man, I think many here feel the old saying âa job well done is its own rewardâ applies.
But that wouldnât be rewards, thatâs just more difficulty?
You could always create this for yourself.
Solo havoc 40 no talents, only melee, all grey weapons.
I donât know. Just sounds⌠Ostentatious and flaunty to me. That you have to rub your award in other peopleâs faces to feel good about yourself and boost some self esteem to have your skills be validated in the eyes of others.
If I accomplished the thing I can feel satisfied in doing it without having to have proven it to anyone. I got the âtrue survivorâ penance on havoc 40 and not on havoc 35. I donât really care.
You could always record your missions and post them if you wanted.
