New Classes for Darktide

So far I suggested this in another longer post with a few other ideas, but for now, this one will be more towards Classes for Darktide, and getting into details for anyone still new to the Warhammer universe, I’m still green myself, but I know enough to get by, so hopefully this helps.

Astartes: Marine Scout

Long Range, Tough, Tactical

Before one becomes a Space Marine, they have to see combat before joining their battle brothers, wearing lighter armor allows for easier movement, working behind enemy lines, sabotaging, capturing, spying and reporting movement, they might not be well protected, they are still very capable fighters like any other battle brother.

Ability: Marked Man
All enemies in your surroundings are marked and highlighted, even behind cover for up to 10s.

Adepta Sororitas: Sisters Hospitaller

Close Range, Precise, Powered by Peril

They are a non-militant order of the Sisters of Battle, working as healers for both civilian and soldiers alike, as well as tending to the sink and the poor with medical care and compassion, and rare occasions they will even join the imperial guardsmen at the front as field medic, those ones that are skilled are also scouted by the Inquisition to join as Acolytes.

Ability: Saint’s Grace
All allies within your vicinity will start recovery both Health and curing corruption for up to 10s.

These are just ideas, and I’m not sure hoe the developers might take care of it, or change what I have written down, but still, it would be nice seeing some new classes for the game, so hopefully to anyone else reading these, I hope to see your suggestions on what classes you’d like to see from Darktide in the near future too.

We’re rejects, lowly nobodies, expendable.

These don’t really fit that theme.

I’m not super up-to-date on SoB, but I for sure know that a Marine Scout would be WAY above the power level of the current rooster.
Moreso, they (both classes) wouldn’t really end up in a penal legion like this.

It is kinda an issue that we have the power level -this- low, not giving a lot of options, but we can turn to rogue-trader for inspiration if need be.

A death cult assassin or something ad mech would be cool as well. Or a Biomancer Psyker

Feel like ratlings would just be a shorter sharpshooter

I want mechanicus

I agree with Mechanicus! Even though I’m not a Mechanicus fan… I want mechanicus XD

Gonna be honest here, a Healing based class is not necessarily a good idea. It would end up breaking the balance of the game considerably and would end up becoming… hmmm… a Meta pick?

Sounds weird to mention Meta in a horde shooter, but let me put this prospect before you.

In a Damnation Mission with Grimoires, would you rather have a mixed team of sharpshooter/Zealot/Ogryn/Psyker in any order.

Or 4 SOB healers that could each pop their abilities off in rotation to maintain a constant uptime of healing and corruption removal, thus making both the actual Damnation Difficulty and Grimoire difficulty pretty Nullified. Not to mention what the feats would even do to empower the ability and coherency even further.

Maybe a corruption removal would be fine to a degree? But healing definitely not so good, and corruption removal coupled with healing just, like I said, breaks game balance.

Now an alternative could be she provides a temporary shield or hp pool to her allies in a radius that lasts for maybe 5-10 seconds? It could even protect against stagger and interrupts as long as the shield is in place, thus allowing her to pop it, and another teammate is given the chance to revive a downed teammate potentially, or even she could revive a downed teammate while the shield is in effect.
