New Class: Sister Of Faith

Ok so solely regarding the cover thing, they could invert the whole crouch mechanic for a really fresh take on movement for a class. Obviously certain things would have to be balanced around it but i think this is a intriguing idea.

The Ratlings normal height is the crouched height where they move at normal speed, but when you press the crouch button they instead lean up, allowing them so see over cover but move at a reduced speed, attack slower, and have reduced accuracy.

You essentially play as them anyway. FS was just trying to pander to some “too cool for power armour” crowd.

yeah, I dont want a discount version that plays just like a gimped out vet, that crap is boring. If we cant have a good game at least let me play as a battle sister.

Zealot can be played as a SoB already.

There is a talent that increases ranged damage the closer you are and the first increase is at 25 meters, a considerable distance in this game.

During zealot ult the bolter(and I assume all ranged options) gains armor piercing.

Combining that talent and zealot ult can make the bolter hit over 500 damage per shot against carapace armor on malice.

The end result is that Zealot’s bolter has more dps at close range than veteran at the cost of lacking the veteran’s quality of life like reload, ammo, and weapon sway.

Hi I just wanted to point out that your assumption of Ogryns being all male is incorrect. Roughly half of all the Ogryns you see are female. Ogryns just have very little sexual dimorphism, meaning that female and male Ogryns look pretty much identical.

All the Ogryn we have in game are male, it’s known and confirmed

Ogryn women do exist and are still part of the IG, just they never got a model (Cause GW think humanity isn’t ready for it)

I understand where you are coming from, but I did mean they are all male in darktide, that might be my bad for not showing that I meant that.

Not really, Zealot is already a Sororitas sans-power armor or less experienced Repentia (explicitly even if you go with schola progen background).

I do agree with a (rather than Skitarii, which would have another person they are linked to and i doubt Hadron would just reprogram+get a mindwipe organized for a random borked Skitarii) a Legio Tech-Adept that can effectively get as close to skitarii as zealot can to Sororitas or Frateris.
Also helps that low aug/ready for promotion to low ranking priesthood Tech Adept was a Dark Heresy npc class (like zealot, regular guardsman instead of spec sniper, trooper or officer and ogryn) for repping notable yet “regular” members of the imperium.

Imagine been scrolling down through a news feed and read “Darktide new class: Sister of Faith”.
Never clicked so fast in my life. I thought it was official, so now I hate you.

Im sorry… But… I think this post has enough views to possibly get the attention of the devs… so you never know :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, let’s clear it up for everyone: you will not be playing as any of the Inquisition’s Chambers Militant. This game is focused on rejects being conscripted to an Inquisitor’s Warband.

A Chamber Militant is called upon as a last resort (and they can also refuse), and it doesn’t fit the current storyline to be like “hey guys, here, we’re going to add a Deathwatch/Grey Knight/Sister of Battle to the mix in a role that would make any of the four current classes look like complete dog water”.

bump because reject theme literally goes out the window as you progress to trust lv30.
Time to shift to reinforcements on standby from Grendyl. SoB or Death Cult or something : D

Lv1-30 is basically probation but getting past that doesn’t actually change much and you’re still totally disposable, you’re just useful enough to be trusted with good gear and more important missions to do before you kick the bucket. Its pretty explicit when your reward for lvl 30 is a character frame titled ‘Still Expendable’, with the caption “Don’t kid yourself. You’re going to die here.”

If the classes were predefined characters like in Vermintide then I could totally see a diverse cast of a SoB, Skitarii, Tempestus Scion, Primaris Psyker, Eldar Ranger, Squat Bountyhunter etc… pretty much like the Blackstone Fortress board game now that I think about it. In DT I don’t think we are meant to be protagonists in the same way.

The player characters in DT not being unique still very much carries the theme that while you might be better dressed and equipped than some of your teammates, you’re still in the same boat as the new guy just coming aboard in cuffs and overalls. In time he might get to the point where they’re as geared as you are, but by then you could just as well have joined with Nurgle’s gooey embrace.

The way I see it the imperial guard is as professional as we are going to get, because even at our best we’re just the creme of the crud.

kasrkin is not a stretch, neither is a sister without power armor.

Why else would you get a bolter, powersword, forcesword, plasma gun. All plausible within the realm of Grendyl’s trusted warband member. Expendable yes, but doesn’t negate better gear or reinforcements from a different branch.

Inquisitor martyr does a gud example. :stuck_out_tongue:

While I really like this justification for Fatshark not going on a power trip with our bottom of the barrel, nameless rejects; I’m pretty sure they will anyway.

As you can see I don’t necessarily disagree except for the fact that Kasrkin and Sisters would be hard to define as their own class, on account of Vets already being able to halfway cosplay a Kasrkin and with stuff like meltas already teased for them, and for sisters for the reasons I outlined in the latter half of the post i just quoted:

I could see them as subclass specialisations maybe, but while classes can be expected to have degrees of overlap in different areas I cant think of a way these could otherwise be implemented standalone which doesn’t functionally eclipse the existing classes.

One of the better ideas I’ve seen is prestige or redemption system for the 4 classes, upgrading them to a better version of its base.

It’s not happening. Mark my words.

Got to stop you there. While they are above regular Imperial Guardsmen and women they are not even remotely close to Space Marines in capacity or ability one on one. Sure they are fanatical zealots in stripped down and weaker versions of power armor who will walk over broken glass barefoot, and turn around to eat it for the Emperor, they would still get absolutely turned into hamburger meat by your average Space Marine in a fair fight. It’s not even a contest to be frank.

Yeah, how do “fans” still get their lore so wrong? A Space Marine is literally a genetically engineered specimen that goes through several intensive surgeries and rigorous training. They hold the gene-seed of the Emperor. Equipment-wise, their power armor is also exponentially better.

Sisters of Battle are just normal women that receive advanced combat training and have mediocre power armor. They aren’t bio-enhanced.

A Space Marine would tear a SoB in half and just chuckle as he threw her corpse aside.
