There are people who are toxic in this game, they are rare compared to the people here just to have fun/try but they exist and the fact they either do not show up in the previous missions tab in social or they can just change characters and have a different name means they can hide from your block.
This needs to be fixed because I should not have to play with toxic players nor should I have to block everyone on the team because of 1 person.
Doesn’t even work like that in most MMOs where you have an actual account. The Online service component is only there to sell MTX instead of letting you block accounts or even allow proper crossplay.
I have played many MMOs and most of which I can tell who I am blocking, I do not understand what you are saying… (Neocron, WoW, ESO, Wildstar, PoE, Crowfall just to name a few examples)
Also in MMOs usually you can just click their text message, character, portrait (and the list goes on) and click ignore/block and it blocks the account through that character (some MMOs fail and it only blocks that character).
This game gives you practically 0 information about who you are blocking in their social list of names that I have never seen before (do not match character names).
I like that when you go to “Previous Missions” it lists your steam friends too - most of which don’t own Darktide… And I’m like… How did you manage to eff this up… So bad that you cannot even interface properly with the Steam API for recent players???
The MMO I play off and on (FF14) I can block someone, they can create a new character and be right back to harassing you, same with WoW last time I played it
As for Ashreon’s statement about previous missions not displaying properly, sounds like more unfinish product issues.
I get what you are saying but I don’t think you fully understand what I am saying…
It would be nice if it account blocked them (like you are saying) sure.
What I am saying is I don’t even know if I am blocking the person I want to because their name is not the same as the name I saw in the game itself.
Click escape during a mission, then find the current players in the mission - it’ll list their steam name (end-screen should too) google “name + steam” then block them from there.
Can’t play with people you have blocked on steam.
But I mean, that’s only if you don’t just block the player right there and then in the escape screen during the mission.
