Mission Types

I would imagine that, given the general success of the overhaul, there’s now some attention on new mission types.
I’d like to suggest something in the vein of two of my favorite Vermintide missions: Against the Grain and Fort Babblebrook.

These share an element that is currently completely absent from Darktide: they’re about saving, not (or not just) avenging or reclaiming something.

Arriving to mission start and not being too late to save any civilians, or to break a siege on a loyal stronghold, would be a nice break from “Everything sucks, everyone is dead, and anyone who isn’t dead is currently rotting and also gnawing on your ankles.”

I’m not complaining about the tone of the game as-is; atmosphere was something that was done right even back in early access - I’m just advocating a little variety in that theme.

Yeah, would be nice to have some missions when you need to defend civilians evacuation or some convoy/npc escort.

they could add so many missions and new types of side objectives.

Boarding and counter boarding actions. enemy ships been detected. people on board of the ships have an option to do a defensive flash missions. you can do something like 3 groups of 4 and each of their missions contribute to a bar. or effect each other missions a more community effort. such as you achieved your objective of defending the engine room. or the central passage and you have reduced number or hordes or elites. and each set of missions can be different. like you offer a damnation (lv25-30), a Malice (lv11-25) and a seditions/uprising. (lv1-10). inaddition. community objectives like different missions. grouping done by the community increases the number of bonus items. but you set it up like so each gate reached has a benefit for the community like increase income from missions, reduced costs for buying new weapons or upgrading. pick one for melk and drop 500, 1k, 5k of tokens. at then end of the objective.

other missions could be VIP retrieval either on atoma or in the space-stations, asteroids bases or ships. said vip should be like an astropath, high ranking official or an inquisitional agent. you could do civilian evacuation or extermination if you failed. another form of repair missions as the current one is kind of terrible for reaching penances.

for side objective resuce VIP, NPC Soldiers holding out. so you have to help and save them having a squad of npcs, Scavage X amount of matts, or retrrive a Servoskill that is floating around the missions area.

if they do decide to make something more vechile base that could be interesting verison of the gmae. while i do understand that people don’t want this game to e develope interms of games plystyle. you could do things like a central vehicle where your people sit. while your party takes control of a walker if the vehicle is destroyed then the mission is over. you have sentinels, Leman russes, Rogal dorns, one could make it First person or 3rd person. both work for this game mode.
