Okay. I will explain this. I want progressive titles. As example if u have survived 75% of time - u have gold title, 60-75 - violet, 45-60 - blue. Its only example.
But wouldnt that also just promote people focusing on their stats rather than playing the missions properly. I do have my problems with how most of the penances work.
In my oppinion the penances shoud focus way more on group efforts.
The skulls are a good idea imo. For a lot of them you have to work together with your team and then everyone gets the reward, instead of you focusing on some weird counter that you potentially have to play against your team to achieve.
Of course its not a big challenge yet since you can do them on any difficulty but you know what i mean. The penances need to be something that your team wants to work together to get it, because that is what the game is fundamentally about, its a coop game.
I would love this in theory.
In practice, it might cause a bunch of unwanted behavior.
This would of course have to be limited to auric. Probably auric damnation.
Otherwise it would mean absolutely nothing.
Then, we have the questions:
- what if you quit? Does it count as a loss? Does it count at all?
- what if you get kicked?
- what if you dc (or alt f4 out) and do not reconnect (maybe because you can‘t)?
Some people would complain for sure. No clue how many.
A bunch of people would try to cheese it in any way they can.
I think it would not only cause more cheesing but also a lot of toxic behaviour in genreall.
people will probably flame or ragequit when someone gets downed because they dont want to “ruin” their statistics.
In my opinion its just not a good idea to make these individual “skill” tests in a game that heavily relies on teamplay.
We had the whole fiasco at release where they ended up making some penances for private games only because it lead to people sabotaging the games.
Imo it would be completely fine for stuff like the twins.
As i suggested above: a penance that requires you to complete damnation twins hardmode with all 4 classes, without dying (not all 4 in a row).
But this would kinda rely on zhe team’s performane, and it would not affect the regular playlist at all.
Its only example. Central idea is progressive title itself, its not matter what kind of progression it would be.
Yeah, maybe that might work. As long as it doesnt have to be a winning streak like for A.S.S.
I interpreted the idea as a constant statistic and if you die you will sort get negative progress like with A.S.S when you die once. I dont like tho concept of it naturally drives out the worst in a lot of people when there is risk of losing proress that is tied to a significant time investment
Also i personally have to say its just not satisfying to be on the edge constantly. Like if something goes wrong my progress gets cut. Its not fun that way imo. I like the idea of some hard challenges tied to auric or the hardmode twins but A.S.S has shown pretty well that its not a good when you can lose significant progress.
