Heyho just wanted to share my upcoming series about short videos explaining first of all enemys and eventually the classes and guns / melee wepaons. Perhaps a little information on new updates whatever. Would love to have some feedback!
I like what you are trying to do so I’ll list off some feedback. I hope it doesn’t come across as mean because that is not my intent. I appreciate when people try to help others which you seem to be trying to do.
1: I can’t quite understand what you are saying. This is probably an issue with me being a filthy North american, but I still think you could just write/voice the scripts in your original language and have closed captions. You have a nice voice though, and I’m sure it would sound even nicer in its original language.
Big boys and girls can read subtitles.
Then again… the people that would benefit from this the most are console players…
Failing all this there is always the option of AI voice if you want to keep things in english.
2: I’m not entirely sure a 60 second format is going to actually help anyone if that’s what you are going for. I understand things are meant to go on the clock app and the yt shorts feature, but Darktide is a very information dense game and most of it is quite relevant.
If you do want to stick with a short format you can use those 2 minute blender tutorials which I feel covered a lot of information in a very short period of time.
You can flash information such as weapons that are effective against crushers, and simply rely on people pausing the video if they want the specific info. This is valid.
Being specific I’d say 3 human ranged weapons with blessings, and 1 ogryn, and 3 human melee weapons, and 1 ogryn on flash cards. You could use the gamelantern website and just use cropped screenshots of the weapon configurations.
3: I get what you are going for with the editing, and the filters but cleanliness is ultimately king especially if you are trying to make a tutorial, or anything informational.
4: I mentioned the console players. You have a third person mod. This will be confusing. Hell, it might be confusing for some PC players. You will have to drop those while gathering footage.
If these videos gain any traction it will be mostly this in the comments:
“how 2 third person???”
“wtf how you 3rd prsn?”
"Where is the third person option in the settings? Pls can’t find help ): "
5: Getting specific again, and pretending I’m someone who hasn’t played the game I don’t think I got a lot of information on crushers other than they hit hard don’t get caught out, and shoot them with a plasma gun or grenade launcher which I can’t find on my veteran (I know the vet doesn’t have the rumbler, but a new player might not).
Not a bad baseline mind you as all the things covered are true, but you only really covered their overhead attack (which there are 2 technically 2 types since one is a walking one with a different dodge timing). No info on what staggers them, or how to dodge effectively (ie not too soon) how to find safe windows to attack them in melee, how important they are on a priority target list, etc, etc
TL;DR on point 5: No nuance. The nuances in this game are actually quite important since even niche scenarios are things that come up relatively often since you get so many different combat encounters per match.
Gotta agree with @Tempest_yo, as an english native I lost a lot of words the first time round. I put on subtitles but the generated ones were unfortunately gibberish:
The good:
- The pacing was really good, with flavour, game footage, info coming along at a compelling pace
- Footage also was quite good and lined up with the talking points
- Good voice recording quality
The not so good:
- I kept losing words, which along with the pace meant I missed out on probably half the info the first time round
- The green filter. I’m guessing you went for a vox-style in-universe type of thing which is cool, but I would keep it out of gameplay footage where you’re trying to showcase something specific like the Krak grenades. At least lessen it a bit for those specific parts. It’s a cool effect though, I like it.
Overall I found the video not that useful. I know what a crusher is, and that they’re a big carapace enemy. Tell me some interesting things, like how to solo or deal with packs in a way that isn’t immediately apparent. I don’t think I saw zealot tips either, just ogryn/vet/psyker – how about some thunder hammer love? Can opener blessing, brittleness/rending mechanics, etc also worth a mention. Penetration stat on gear too maybe?
It’s a lot of info to cram into 60 seconds, so you may want to further break it down by class. If I’m looking for help in the game typically it’s for a specific character. Veteran vs Crusher for example, may also provide some good search terms to help people find your vid.
Despite this it was a very enjoyable video to watch, thanks and keep up the good work!
Well subtitles it is next time certainly (only conflicts with ingame subtitles cause i got them turned on)
The core issue at hand is I don’t necessary record anything with the intend of using it I just clip my games where smt a good happen or funny.
So it’s usually TP instead fp perhaps I could run some in first and get some of it wouldn’t be hard.
Well yeah the vox green thingy filter is for obvious aesthetics. I could increase the opacity.
The 60 second format can’t mention all weapons nor classes. But i should have mentioned stagger effect weapons as a broad term. I do plan on covering each weapon in the future too.
It is just impossible to show and go that deep in 60 seconds. It should give u a vague idea how to deal with them. Like trapper is more straightforward cause it’s more about how u DON’T get trapped here is the vid.
Btw Subnautica good ol times
Edit. Yeah ur suggestion with breaking it into classes aka How to deal With Crushers - Zealot will work in more depth. I think only mauler rager bulwarks are the only ones which need specified videos perhaps the bosses too but then it boils down to meet the nurgle beast give basic info then for each class 2-3 strategys.

Subtitles next time
-
Short format to give u vageue idea and tools. I should put blessings onto the side of the screen with those weapons next time.
-
Increasing opacity of the filter i made will make it clearer. I do like the artistic choice but i understand it fully why it’s working against.
-
Footage i collect is just either big plays or funny meme stuff or bugs or special condition’s or clutches. I could certainly play 4 missions without using majority of mods and probably get enough examples footage.
-
I should have mentioned staggering effect but “heavy hitter weapons” or “armour piercing” is for me self explanatory. it’s stuff you don’t think much about if your used to it.
So i look to make it more noob friendly. Guy below me suggested to make class specific enemy shorts so it has more depth. It is just impossible to put thaaaat much into 60 seconds.
The best way to deal with crushers for beginners honestly is just stay away and stay at range.
Also giving them vague Ideas will encourage exploration. At least i think when I hear heavy hitter weapons or armour piercing what to look for in games.
Kind of make them explore the different weapon types.
This is better than the crusher one. Much more concise, but for the gameplay clips you should definitely remove your teammates voices if they on are a separate audio track, or lower the volume enough so that you are the primary voice while they remain a murmur.
nice accent, very low gothic
As mentioned in another comment its usually clips which happen when funny stuff happen or clip worthy. I just use shadow play instead of OBS not sure if I can make it game audio only like it is in obs possible.
Otherwise the easy solution is just reduce it and make it muffled. Tbf the trapper the way I spoke was also more eeeh apparently fit to my asmr theme to put it nicely. Friends suggested to tune it down
Shadowplay does have audio tracks, but only one I know for certain is the recorder’s. Don’t know how it would classify discord.
