Materials and Lootsystem

I am curious if Devs actually play other games or play their own game and go „this is fun progression, i want to play 30 mins just in hope of getting at least something“? Well maybe next time then… oh, i had a drop… so satisfying… maybe it will match the power level of the weapon i am carrying next time… bad luck… a t least i get currency for that orange 423 lasgun…

What was the intention behind following decisions made?

  • going from 3 items per run to one or none
  • not adjusting the quality of the base stats depending on difficulty, secondary missions or conditions
  • scraping the commendation chest style system but having up to 10% xp-gain as a stat - wich was about 3% while leveling - and only showed up as 10% once max level was reached…

Materials could have been given out for:

  • certain mission types, conditions, bosses
  • as reward for weeklies or even dailies
  • for scraping weapons depending on rarity, basically for money as there is nothing else to do with it than to buy weapons
  • a special condition that was created for that purpose like a heist
  • hidden chests as a secondary mission like grims and scriptures

The crafting part 2 is not that bad but:

  • extremely scarce materials don‘t let people experiment with upgrades because the waste is to high
  • please just add a dropdown list as soon as the stat reroll is free or at least make our techpriest shut up :slight_smile:
    There is no need to roll a stat for 30 Minutes that we will get anyway eventually
  • its simply not worth rolling on something blue with a t3 stat in hope of the second being t4

As for the shop:

  • Add occasional special offers with a high chance for a descent class weapon
  • maybe let us place an order for a certain type for the next day or something like a tendency towards a chosen archetype for the store
  • ever thought of hiding extremely rare vendors in the missions themselves that offer special stuff…
  • imagine finding weapon cases in the map that need to be secured to get a bonus drop

at the moment its not worth it to do anything challenging… the loot sucks and until a worthy weapon appears the motivation to farm materials is just not high enough…

No need to hurl out good stuff for free but atm we don‘t have a descent way to get stronk and no sense of accomplishment for earning good gear…

Instead of 3 items per run, you now have a shop with X items per hour, which is way more even if you lose. (Unless you count dumb speedrunning on screaming bell low difficulty…)

My main concern is how long it takes to farm crafting mats with how many it takes to upgrade items to see if they’ll be worth keeping.

The point is that the shop items are very rarely good and if you upgrade stuff a t1 or t2 blessing is very common wich ruins it for now… an kind of motivation to hunt down better stuff is missing…

I guess a lot of ppl just look at the “380” stat, but forget that existing blessings will be important for the upcoming crafting. So you still wanna buy those “crap” for them.

Also nothing against being able to craft weapons or getting mats while destroying them, but red items like in Vermintide are not needed.
