I do the opposite. I use the browser plugin and avoid brunts unless I am hunting for blessings. I just wait for weapons I want to show up at Melks or armoury.
To be fair the imperium would be much further ahead in general if it wasn’t for their religious zeal nerfing themselves. But that’s the aesthetic/style of the Imperium. Compared to the Tau, as an example.
Clearly, the Emperor wanted a psychic society where daemonic portals were mere nuiscances treated like the weather and not a medieval hellscape ran by foaming at the mouth street preachers preventing my psychic homies from having a force shotgun that shoots mind bullets.
That sounds like heresy to me. You’re going to get an entire planet killed with that kind of thinking.
Its not purely a mal-adaptive quality in their civilization, though it is repulsive of course. Its a defensive adaptation brought about by trillions of deaths and horrendous warp fueled events. Tau is only partially insulated from these phenomena by their micro-souls bare presence to the warp. One day their machine intelligences will become smart enough to become targets of warp corruption and they will have their own Men of Iron incident.
I’m not saying we have to change the whole empire, I’m just saying they get to have skittles flavored brain burst buckshot. And I want skittles flavored brain burst buckshot.
And Ordo Malleus… surely our friends from across the aisle would be open to some opportunistic requisitioning?
That would require GW writing anything with a shred of nuance in 2023. Considering how incredibly stupid and lore breaking Votann are with AI I don’t see that happening.
i think each class should have their own specialty weapons,
maybe only the Zealot has the training to not electrocute them selves with the hammer.
maybe only the Vet has the training to not over charge and explode the Plasma Gun.
and maybe the Psyker is the only space mage that can use Staffs.
in real life if i gave the average person a flame thrower they would die trying to use it.
because they lack the training to use it, and the skills of knowing when somethings wrong.
basic firearms, Bolter, Shotgun, ext should be avalible to all human classes.
this assumption that the Psyker need only have Force or Psychic weapons is bad.
yes staff weapons are cool but you should not have only Staff weapons.
if i want to play Gun Psyker i should be able to, as its lore friendly and its easily implemented.
i know some feel well Psykers in lore, where all powerful big brains, well not all were.
and those who werent used guns, so they should be allowed to use basic guns.
The very point of using a gun as a psyker is to have a ranged option that does not cause peril. And is efficient above 30 meters, ideally, though I suppose shotguns would not be.
And ideally can hit things repeatedly without staggering them so repeated weakspot hits are possible.
I always missed a precision subclass for Sienna in VT 2, at least here we can substitute.
I, on the other hand, appreciate that peril isn’t just “ammo for staves”. At that point, might as well call it ammo.
And no, not because of Scrier’s Gaze. I just like the option to use force swords, and variety. And Blitz’, I guess.
for me its more about having an option to take out Crushers that isnt the Revolver.
id like another Anti Crusher/Raider/Ogryn weapon, thats why id like the Shotgun.
as i said the Revolver already does this, but a Shotgun would just be another option to use.
I’m sure if balancing is an issue, they can just offer a very similar weapon.
I’d love a shovel on my Zealot, but it won’t happen.
But a commisar weapon needn’t have the same stats as on the Psyker, if a Balancer at Fatshark sees an issue with that.
