Major Performance Loss after 1.5.4

Issue Type (Required):

Performance

Issue Description (Required):

When Unlocked and Loaded released, I changed nothing in my settings and the performance increased dramatically. It was behaving like it should have since initial release. I actually got much more into the game because of this. For example: getting a smooth 110-120fps on the Mourningstar.

The only thing I’ve used is DLSS and Nvidia Reflex Low Latency: Enabled + Boost

Now I don’t know what changed but it’s back to what it was prior to Unlocked and Loaded, maybe even worse. The Mourningstar is a stuttering mess. Getting around 40-60fps. The 1.5.4 patch notes said that FSR was accidentally on for Unlocked and Loaded so I tried manually turning that on and that didn’t help anything.

Please help, this is crazy. It’s unplayable like this.

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

No, I don’t use mods

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

Steam (PC)

Rendering options were automatically reset with the hotfix - I predict there’s something you need to change up, to match how it was previously.

I’ve got the settings back to what they were before and there’s still clear issues present. (Nvidia card)

I’ve got a good/average system and with Unlocked & Loaded you guys actually made the game perform amazing. Now it’s been reverted. Walking around the Mourningstar fluctuates in fps and now hordes and open areas are dropping frames when they were fine before. It’s sluggish and not as responsive. I don’t know what was changed…

GPU fans are running more, the system is running hotter… Why though? This is such a disappointment.

There are other players who are experiencing this too. The devs need to revert whatever changes they think might’ve caused this. Revert the key changes back to how it was in Unlocked & Loaded

I was having some real bad performance as well on a decently high end pc, i pretty much had to turn all of my settings to low or off, which shouldnt be the case on a 6900 XT and 5800X3D. But since i turned everything to low or off it seems to be about back to normal, will have to play a couple more games to see for certain but im still surprised how bad the performance is

These issues are the exact same performance issues many people had when the game used to start in windowed instead of the selected full screen.

Now that we are forced into a terribly implemented windowed mode a lot of people -myself included - cannot play at an acceptable frame rate or quality any more.

With the exact same settings I was running 2 days ago I have lost 50FPS just standing in the mourningstar from this change.

We need a full screen mode. Not everyone has the ability to run just the game on their PC without things in the background, so we NEED things in real fullscreen.

Just as an update - no graphics settings are improving the situation. The game is just struggling for no apparent reason.

I have changed everything as it was before the update and I’m having performance issues

I’ve made the team aware. Thank you!

I’m in the same boat. Aside from juggling the frustration of resolution changes putting the game in a “shrunken window” despite being full screen - I’ve been meticulously re-doing my graphic settings and the performance is at least 20-30 frames worse.

I saved a copy of my config file prior to the update and have been going 1 for 1 through all the graphic and display settings to make sure things are the same. I had a 72 frame rate cap before and would rarely dip below that even in hectic horde situations. Now I regularly drop into the low 50s or high 40s for frames.

I had to change DLS to the highest performance mode. The game looks terrible and even then it’s not performing as well as it was. Frames are low and the game, even in menus, regularly stutters.

Please bring back the old exclusive full screen option.

Me too my fps are worse and i think it should be related to the new screen mode option or maybe there is a problem with the dlss but this has no sense since some of the users have better performance than before and others have worse so it should be something related to the new screen mode and how it works, some of us need the other screen mode back

I have lost between 30-40 fps after the update.

Changed all my settings back to how they used to be, edited the config file and Nvidia control panel to push even more performance over quality, and my fps is still a lot worse than what i used to have before the update.

Ever since this hotfix my game can drop down to 15fps and average around 40-60 when I used to hover over 100fps all the time on my graphics settings

Also the snow on Clandestum Gloriana flickers with tons of black shadows around the finale, Same with the skybox on any Hourglass location maps and I believe some of throneside.

The Psyker Telekine Shield and Dome abilities also have had the rainbow oil slick problem reintroduced too, making them completely opaque and impossible to see through until I restart the game to fix it. This happens every other match. Since Unlocked and Loaded the dozens of crashes per hour were fixed however.

Running a 5700 xt 8gb and a Ryzen 5 3600

Game is near unplayable after this botched hotfix.

Same for me. This is almost exactly my situation as well.

Small update, dropping frame cap helps with the system running excessively and hot. This is probably an obvious detail to most people but the issue is this wasn’t happening before. My system was silent and normal temp at 120+ fps.

I am also having this issue, 100fps drop.

Yeah same here.

Unlocked and loaded worked perfectly.

Since one of the recent hotfix releases my game now stutters A LOT. even on low gfx settings and even with low enemy density.

I really notice it whilst playing the long austex games on rolling steel. The game stutters at least 5-6 times per auspex game and it even causes me to hit the walls in the minigame.

Of course it stutters everywhere but it’s just very easy to notice during the auspex minigame.

BEGONE!

The only high I need is the LIGHT the GOD EMPEROR!

I didn’t actually want to just add to the pile, but I only just tried to play again after a week, and wanted to go here to check if I could just copy-paste the old settings from my backup.
But on seeing other people having tried that to no effect:
This uncomfortably reminds me of the early release. Back when, in hordes, my frames dropped below 30. I’d almost forgotten how bad that felt, but I guess it did make me take a 9 month break.
… Did anyone make a mistake with versioning?

A couple of things you can try to fix performance issues is to check if G-sync is turned off, i had mine off but after i turned it on i gained some FPS.

Another one is a tip Mezmorki gave me, which is to set your screen resolution to the same resolution you use ingame, not sure how or why this worked but it did increase my fps a bit overall.

I still dont seem to get the same performance i used to but at least its not as unplayable as it was right after the patch.
I sometimes get major fps drops for no apparent reason which makes the game feel really sluggish and unresponsive, but at least these two things are easy to do and has had a positive effect on the games performance.
