So before this update I was having consistent and smooth gameplay, stable fps.
After I downloaded it and verified the files I now have constant stuttering of the game. It doesn’t matter if it is the 4 of us at the start of a mission of in the middle of the horde, the game will freeze the screen for a second or two randomly and ruin any chance at playing.
Constant massive FPS drops, stutter and tearning after latest update, even at lowest settings
Used to be silky smooth before on max details. Running RTX 4090
I’ve always had long load times in this game, and my first match of a session usually starts rough, but the game eventually catches up and the rest of my session will run buttery smooth.
After this patch things are inconsistent.
Sometimes it still runs fine. Sometimes it will start stuttering and won’t stop until I restart the game (the game will boot back up quicker if I go back in not too long after I quit and the performance will be better).
Playing the new level seems to guarantee that performance will be poor for the rest of a play session, but it’s not the only way to get poor performance. It’s the only way to get poor performance that I can reliably reproduce though.
It’s a shame because I really like the new level and I’m trying to power through some of these 10 FPS matches (you should have seen me dodging everything earlier when I couldn’t fight back) to level Mastery because I’m really enjoying it, but I can’t wait for the game to run better again.
Edit: It seems that it did perform better after quitting the game for half an hour or so, then going back into it. Not sure why, but maybe that will help.
Edit 2: So over the last 5 days I’ve been playing the game a lot. It seems every time I play it, it runs better. It just loaded quickly and ran fine right before making this edit. I have no idea why it would do that, but hopefully that might help diagnose the issue.
Edit 3: Sure enough, I took about a day break from the game, and now it’s back to loading slowly and running choppy. It’s weird, like a reverse memory leak. Usually a poorly performing game only gets worse over consecutive play sessions, not better.
