Just keep it simple, it’s a patch.
If a new big feature is dropped, it’s a release.
If you fix a newly introduced critical bug a day or 2 after a patch or release, it’s a hotfix.
Patches and Releases are delivered on set intervals, like bi weekly patches and a release each semester.
Hotfixes are done when needed.
This is the terminology we use at our company. Our version names are basically release#.patch#.hotfix#
