Havoc weekly demotion is broken. Went from 40->31

So apparently if you don’t play 1 week, you get demoted 1 rank, but that’s manageable and not a big issue. The problem is if you decide to play at a lower level havocs after getting to 40, you get demoted to the highest one you completed no matter what. That’s completely ABSURD! You don’t demote one level for not playing, you demote dozens FOR actually playing.

In my case I went down 10 freaking levels from 40 after the reset because I decided to ‘chill’ by helping some players around lvl 30 last week and that’s the max I did that week. Now imagine that you help a friend at level 5 and don’t do any higher havoc that week… Then you suddenly demote 35 levels instantly and go back to the goddamn beginning!

Who even came up with this awful system??? This can’t be intended and needs to be fixed ASAP, earlier than any other bug. I bet this happened to more people too. No wonder there isn’t many high level havocs listed…

fatshark falsely believed people would invest time and effort maintaining the “title” of havoc 40 despite having earned their badge to flash already.

(faintly remember when you HAD to play AND win weekly to maintain your wow pvp rank ages ago, didnt bother about that after having got the title ever since)

with all the hassle of mandatory talents/classes as safety belt and to top that off souring the experience for all those that dont want to arse themselves with more “rejected” than actually matches played in their precious playtime.

i dont give a rats 4ss about “needing” books/bubbles for the masses not to sweat profusely at the fear of demotion.

i play ogryn or nothing at all, period.

keep your harry potter chicken legs or tourette jehova witness, if its less then 80 inch biceps i wont play that character. :muscle:

and if that means i get to spend more time in other games than thats no water off my back honestly.

chasing those havoc 40s to have one match to show for in 2 hours aint just motivating much less retaining me as a player.

•got my true survivor
•got my level 40 clearance

no reason to further bother with the crappy party finder honestly

Demotion system was never a good idea to begin with, and such a scuffed implementation if this is true lol

use that anger,

let it mold you,

remind you of what we thought lay behind us for almost 20 years only to be spewn out again like a half digested corpse by a very corpulent water animal.

Not like you somehow lose your 100s if not 1000s of hours of skill in a week of not playing havoc xd.

You could be playing other missions and still be demoted.

Personally discovered this lovely feature this week, my friend group is busy with POE2 so I figured I would save the 40 for them and run when everyone is available. Instead I come back to a 33 rank because I decided to chase the hats. Insanely bad design.

doh that’s a new motivational low.
first no one wanted to use this party finder, so now it’s the only way for getting into havoc.
then you need to “play safe” because most parties won’t accept anything else for fear of demotion.
and when you think you’re done with it, you don’t even get to keep your precious 40 displayed in-game.
makes me wonder why i should strive to get that 40 in the first place.

the title that´s not even getting you into a squad guaranteed cause people reject ogryn even if you carry true survivor or havoc forged with symbols tagged up your arsehole like a north korean general.

someone in control at fatshark should really reconsider how to restructure havoc lest more and more players (that might very well have been around since the beta) lose interest in the once beloved game…

playing havoc destroys the crave for anything less but
playing havoc is only reliably possible in a premade or the surefire classes/talents so
playing havoc becomes more of a chore scrubbing the party finder than actually
playing havoc so you just quit
playing havoc…

no haiku but its something :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

This Havoc mode is such a flop of a system I can’t even…

Honestly I’ve only done a few missions in it - mostly because every element of it is a PitA and a waste of time. I could just queue for an Auric mission and have fun. Or I could flagellate myself waiting for a party or stressing over havoc ranks, and rank decay, and waiting for assignments to clear. Gah. Not worth it at all.

Well, I’m glad I learned this horse sh!t befoorre I started trying to go for the armor pieces by helping people at lower ranks. Jeezus they really just did not give any thought when it came to the overall systems with this huh?

Gonna lean on what I said here even harder cause just, wtf even is that. I like another here got to 40 in hopes that after the holidays I could get some friends together who ‘didn’t want to do the grind’ and we could just try our hands at it. Guess I’ll just not play until I’m back on my PC then so I only lose 1 rank instead of 20 xD. Actual garbage omg…just remove the ‘penalty’ entirely it literally is the main thing making the mode completely unplayable.

Havoc is pretty dead right now, i hardly find any players on monday after 3 weeks this has been out lmao

Can only confirm that to be true.

I remember picking you because you had true survivor, the banner for 100 havoc cleared and 1400 levels.

The closest competition you had was a zealot with highest clear being 29 and 150 levels.

If there was a more desireable class with similar credentials, I would’ve likely picked that instead.
Sad but true.

might wanna update your radar :joy: thats the lvl 35 cleared thingie.

but yeah thats the current shtshow that is havoc right now.

did my 40 in about 6 missions give or take(for sure wont be doing 100x that clownery), cleared my stuff dont bother with the party finder and wasting time much longer.

i dont “apply”

Region? Also holidays might be playing a part in it.
Regardless, had no issues doing weekly 40 this Monday on EU in the afternoon then farming penances for a few games until evening. Like, it’s quieter than last week but still up to a dozen groups were up at the same time which is more than I expected around Christmas

You get demoted to whatever you played that week. I didn’t do my own assignments so I jumped to 40 pretty quickly. It’s a double edge sword, goes both ways. You could be at 1 and then get 40 if someone’s willing to take you.

My friend was pretty pissed though when we got him from 1 to 24 and he didn’t play one week, logs back in and see’s he’s at 1. Does auric maelstrom jump him up anymore? Not sure. But that alone made him not want to touch the system.

When I went on the discord and played with people the sentiment seemed the same, play havoc and finish the penances… And never touch it again.

Auric feels about right for me for difficulty where I feel I can mess around with non-optimal/meta builds.

EU aswell, and i had no issues aswell, but having only 4 people signing up for my level 40 assignment is telling, had to settle for a melee psyker and 2 ogryns, and i was the chorus zealot so nobody was doing damage

we ended up winning anyways because the spawns were kinda bugged, we didn’t get many

this
and i’m not even focusing on any penances.

i play to prove myself i got what it takes.

that damn new condition makes it harder finding a group than actually play well… got alot of other games that i paused in the last 2 years enjoying darktide.

cause getting taste of havoc but not being able to turn 2 hours game time into playing for two hours, anything below isnt getting me any further in terms of personal progress.

heck might even install quake live again to shake the rust :joy:
