Tonight I have had the absolute worst lag and connection. Which is not exactly unusual in DT but this lag has cost me 3 strikes and a demotion. Nonstop lagging, rubber banding, floating enemies and teammates, one shot entire health missing, disconnections, constantly all night.
I thought it was my connection but after checking speed I could see it wasn’t. When I rebooted the game I got the ‘position in queue’ prompt at the landing screen which would suggest it’s the servers.
So yeah, can I have my rank back please? I barely get any time to be able to commit to havoc and I feel like I’ve just had my whole night wasted due to this abysmal lag. Not one single mission was I able to play tonight as it was all literally unplayable.
Steps to Reproduce (Required):
Boot game
Likely get put in the same lobby as people on the other side of the world, possibly the moon
Select havoc
attempt to play havoc 40 with the moonfolk
watch Darktide on Ice
watch your health disappear without even being near enemies
feel completely robbed when you get demoted
feel deflated at your whole night of precious spare time being wasted
A question to clarify the situation. Did you play and lose only one game? Or did you diligently play all three even though the issues had already shown up in the first one?
Diligently played all 3 because the issue wasn’t ‘constant’ per se, but came in waves. When I noticed my speed and ping was OK I deduced it must be a quirk and would likely iron itself out. Unfortunately it didn’t. Once a havoc game has started then you can’t bail, no matter the reason, as it counts as a strike. After 2 matches I reset my machine in case it was a gremlin somewhere. Then game 3 gave same results.
This is while watching 4 people stream the class release, so that download ping at 11 is about double normal.
I don’t think I have had a single matchmade game get to the end, ever. The only success I have had is playing with other UK and US people in premade groups when the US East players start the game.
There is still lag but at least with those stipulations we can get through havoc 40 without too much struggle. Never made it through one started on the EU servers as it always disconnects us. Regular matches on EU are bad enough that most players in the UK use US East, you absolutely cannot Havoc on them.
Fatshark have been told this no end of times, they either don’t care or don’t know how to fix it.
