Ever since the Nightmares and Visions update, the game completely crashes my graphics drivers, resulting in a hard freeze followed by a black screen and driver crash report.
I get the “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED” error during loading screens before and after the missions.
I have been playing on my 9070xt without any problems since I bought the card, but after the update, loading screens crash my drivers.
I have completely removed the drivers and reinstalled them, but I can’t revert to old drivers since older ones don’t support 9070xt.
I have run multiple benchmarks and stress tests, and I have been playing other GPU-heavy games without any problems.
One thing I noticed after the Nightmares and Visions update is how terrible performance has become in certain menus. I’m getting 1/3 of the previous fps I had in some menus. Loadout screen, penance, and new loading screens themselves have some problems.
I hope I won’t get the copy-paste “This is a GPU-related crash” response because I tested my GPU in every single scenario, and Darktide loading screens are the only thing that crashes my drivers after the new update.

Sorry to hear the conventional solutions have been unsuccessful. We’re working on some crashes currently and it’s possible these may be related - I’d recommend waiting until at least a couple of hotfixes have been released to see if this improves the situation for you.
I’ve played about 10 maps today with only 1 crash, which happened on the loading screen before the mission. Game crashed right after I enabled “AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1,” which for some reason deactivated the fsr 3.1 framegen in-game.
While I’m not 100% sure, I think running “AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1” without in-game framegen caused my “DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED” issue.
I’ve been getting the same error and driver crash with my new 9070xt PC. Didn’t have this error on my older Nvidia build. Crashing on mission load and mission completion. I don’t have “AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2.1.” But I have been using Frame Generation with native non FSR resolution.
