Need to reinstall AMD driver after every Darktide update:

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

After every game update the following will happen: During gameplay, the screen will go completely black for less than a second. After a while (less than 10 minutes) the screen will go completely dark and after 3 or 4 seconds the PC will restart. I noticed that when the screen goes dark for less than a second, I will always get a full PC crash after 10 minutes or so. I Alt-Tab’ed once after the less than a second flicker and noticed that my AMD drivers have crashed. The only way for me to fix this is by reinstalling the AMD drivers. I have to reinstall AMD drivers after the game gets an update, always.

[PC] Do You Use Mods? (Optional):

Yes, but I haven’t tried disabling them

Reproduction Rate (Required):

Constant (100%)

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

I have noticed more instability with my AMD GPU as well. Mostly the game freezes for half a second, but this only happens a couple of times every mission.

Some people on and off the forums have had luck with my guide for fulling wiping and reinstalling the drivers with DDU (blame Windows) but you can also try the fix from AMD that FSJulia has been giving people. It’s in my guide but I’ll paste it here too.

Maybe restart after changing that too just to make sure it works.

I read to your guide and do appreciate your help but just DDU and then reinstalling AMD Adrenalin is more than enough. I will also disable the driver auto update.

Nice  sadly my crashing would pop up again after a day or two before I did that but it’s nice others aren’t getting hit as hard as I did

You don’t understand. What I meant to say is that you just DDU and reinstall drivers. The extra steps you mentioned are not needed.

Anyway. It is crashing again. This one is different. It crashes after 5-10 minutes. Freeze and then to desktop. It doesn’t reboot my PC anymore.

Happened again. Updated game and it crashes. Need to reinstall drivers again.
