Look at that that’s awesome
Is that the new set because the chest piece is not the new one, was it previously in the store
I know the headpiece and leggings are the new set.
They are literally doing that right now. The most recent “new” skin rotation is just old skins that were colour swapped.

That would be so much better, I had already wished for something like that for Vermintide, but well… that’s what it remained, a wish. Actually, it’s exactly what hobbyists already know from Warhammer anyway, overpriced models that you can color as you like. I even think if you could customize the colors and maybe even the attachments, the skins would be worth the money they are sold for. But at the moment this whole store just feels like a big scam… constantly rotating recolored, poorly assembled skins at ever-changing high prices. That’s where it leaves me, especially because the game itself has so many other issues that should actually make it more important to try to do right for the consumer and not try to rip them off like FatShark is doing. But I’ll be honest: it also needs to be integrated properly. FatShark once said at the beginning that “the rotating store would be there to avoid confusing the consumer unnecessarily”. I mean… have they ever looked at the inventory after you’ve bought just a few recolors (the ones for Ordos)? Everything looks similar anyway because there’s only blue, black and green with different camo patterns, if every color variant gets an extra name and slot… No thanks. I’d rather have just one slot per base model, a tab to select the attachments and a few switches to determine colors, highlights and material. If you want to go really far you could even place iconography freely, I mean in principle this was already possible in games over 20 years ago… then a tick to hide the hairstyle or the beard and that’s it. I would also love to have a more organized layout for the weapons, but that’s another story… it almost seems as if the approach FatShark wanted to use to justify this rotating store really only counted for that, since the rest of the UI is just… absolutely not good at all on a level that would be an imposition even for the Ogryn’s latrine shovel.
I think I even saw you today and asked myself that very question. Why does he put on such a shitty combination?
But now that I see what you see… Hell, that looks dope!
Damn that’s cool. I want that.
As to the main topic, +1.
However, I say skins don’t go far enough. We need to buy parts and then assemble them however we want, maybe with a little help from the modding community.
First example is OFFICER’S HAT and AUGMENTED EYE.
Not another hat with an eye, but my choice of each, togeather.
The are from the old set that came with a vox caster in all red a while back with full red carapace armour
I just used forthedrip to make it blue
The fatshark version just show some mediocre cosmetics and have Buy under it.
Let you to dye your cosmetics?
And how they would sell recolored old skins then?
And my Axe!
This shouldn’t be too difficult:
-
Refund aquillas/dockets spent on reskins.
-
Implement a palette system for armor, similar to the one that already exists for weapons (modders have already done this.)
Of course, they’d probably have to run it by Tencent first, so I’m not holding my breath.
I believe my idea can be implemented within a month since the required technology is readily available. And your idea will maybe take a year, with Fatshark around; the most significant problems will be like clipping outfits, but I really like the idea.
oh that one yea ingame it will not look good for other but it looks amazing with forthedrip
Hopefully not. What I hope to achieve is a system similar to Overwatch skins or Fortnite, where you can upgrade them. For example, starting with a helmet, then adding goggles, a scarf, and perhaps even customizable texts.
But this is just pure cope from me xD
Yes, on an unrelated note, I’ve heard that China wants to do away with FOMO, or more specifically, gacha mechanics. Do you think this might lead to changes from Fatshark?
I can see them implementing a system that let’s you recolour your skins if it would make them more and easier money than just recolouring the skins themselves and selling them for a higher price than previous colourways, like they do now.
Short of a completely different system, what they should do is move towards a system like implementing For the Drip mod in an actual way. What this means:
(1) Premium skins give you the new “model” plus a set of associated “materials” (applied by default to the premium skin).
(2) Materials could also be directly purchase-able as MTX - but they could also be added as penance rewards or in the non-premium cosmetic shop. Would be good as rewards for seasonal content/special events, etc.
(3) Implement the For the Drip mod as a proper menu and way to customize cosmetics (similar interface to weapon skin/trinket customization). So any materials can be applied to different armor cosmetic zones per for the Drip. Buying more skins gives you more materials.
(4) Bonus time: have decal zones on cosmetics where you can apply different decals and graphics to further tweak things.
Suddenly now players have a reason to buy premium skins to get access to a new base model. But they can then apply whatever materials they want, overwriting the default. More people might buy base models since they can apply materials to them if their choice, and there’s still a reason to buy duplicate base models because it may come with premium material texture that you don’t have yet. Everyone wins.
That’s why you should never buy a reskin when you have already bought one model even if it was a different texture.
