cherish silence over nonsense
I used to get my kicks seeing the development depots get updated on SteamDB, but they even zipped that up tight! Do wish we’d get some more comms.
I’m fine with one major update a quarter, just wish they’d tell us what was going on.
Problem is we already got nonsense
With blatant misinformation just being updated into the game for literally no comprehensible reason, fatshark have updated blessing descriptions along with updating the blessing itself at the same time in the same update in the past what has compelled them to do this utter insanity what kind of workflow and management causes this.
I mean it’s great that we got SOME information about there actually being Balancing changes in the next update, but uh… this wasn’t the brightest way to inform us of that. A Dev Blog detailing such things would’ve been better.
Also definitely establishes the whole balance updates between major updates thing they said was possible was a complete lie.
Adding to the Book.
Also let’s be honest here. Strawhat is gone and she was the only person who could make Fatshark communicate. Kitefin has not proven themselves as an adequate replacement.
Well, it’s not really his fault, but everyone already knows they working on something.
When you boil it down, it’s basically the same as saying, “I can’t say anything about that. I don’t know when, but I’ll let you know once I can talk about it.”
I think the higher-ups are adamant about not letting the CM speak freely.
I’m not expecting a roadmap like SM2, and I don’t really mind if they don’t release one. But at the very least, if we could know what they’re working on for the next update, everyone would be happy.
GW knows that 40K video games are a cash cow, and they should be actively supporting content development for Darktide as well. It’s also possible that the success of the Arbites DLC secured enough funding to significantly alter their update plans…
See, that’s the thing. Strawhat managed to force that through, Kitefin doesn’t or can’t.
Either she got fired because the higher-ups got pissy about having to actually say things to the player base or she got sick of having to ram her head against the brick wall.
Most likely the latter.
Trying to build a bridge without mortar must get exhausting.
Or many other possibilities, like FS’s policy for CMs is “you don’t have to interact with everyone if you don’t want to.”
I’d be fine with that if they sprinkled more balance updates between them. Or at the very least had more balance changes in each one.
What I don’t understand is, could posting update information possibly kill someone?
Kill someone? No of course not. Lead to negativity, sure. Like the good ol plasma gun. Or comms put out too early, like vet weapons.
Nowadays, all kinds of games are closely communicating with players, listening to their opinions and trying their best to make updates that players want. I just can’t figure out what the benefits are for those games that pretend to be dead.
Can’t be held to account for failing to meet statements if you refuse to say anything.
And I suppose if you’re so incompetently run you can’t actually be sure you’ll achieve anything you say you’ll do even with a year of lead time, being silent is a decent survival strategy.
I can’t think of an “active” benefit of being mostly-silent. Just the lesser chance of putting your foot in your mouth or over promising.
I wish FS communicated more, no argument there. But it also bites when stuff like the veteran weapons are announced too early.
And I don’t know if this is their reason of course. But their communication history, and the not-very-2025-live-service updating pacing, just makes think they want to do things their own way on their own time.
Yeah I guess more of that would be bad given the case with balancing updates in between major updates just being another lie.
those mandatory Swedish holidays that always happen at the same time of the year snuck up on the company that has operated in Sweden for almost 2 decades again.
