We are aware of a recent influx of complaints concerning voice chat not working properly.

This may be related to an existing issue which more commonly impacts our Text chat:

Voice Chat is not working for the XBOX Console. My son and I play this game with several friends on XBOX and STEAM. This issue only seems to be affecting the XBOX Console. Those that play on the XBOX APP for PC do not have this issue. This issue has been quite annoying. Please get this fixed.

Hey fat shark or anyone that can help me,

My microphone isn’t working after update 1.5.1.
Unlocked and loaded.

I have an Xbox account,

I’ve tested the hardware, my headset microphone works elsewhere. So it’s not hardware,

I have voice option turned to “voice activated”,

I have microphone monitoring at 100%,

I’m not in a party on Xbox live.

What’s going on?

The in gane voice chat is not working for me on my XBox. I can use voice chat in several other games and apps so I don’t think the issue is on my end.

Same here. I can see other party members keying up (mic icon appears) but I can’t hear them.

My own mic icon never appears and other party members cannot hear me.

This is on Crossplay. I’m on Xbox and they’re on Steam.

Ever since the update voice chat does not function on Xbox Series X. Voice chat is highly important for console players because we have no other way to communicate in game. How is any new player on Xbox supposed to learn how to do the Rolling Steel mission if there is no way to speak?

If this is somehow NOT A BUG and was instead an intentional change…it’s a bad one. Please reverse it.

I read over the linked post and tried all the suggestions mentioned for the modem/router, even uninstalled the game on my XBOX and re-installed. However, we still have no in-game comms.

Has there been any development on finding the issue on your end?

On PC, still can’t chat with voice or text.

Absolutely insane that this issue has persisted for so long. How can such a basic thing be impossible for the devs to implement properly?

Probably due to the fact that they use a third-party for the voice/text chat. It could be a coding issue from the new update.

Probably a dumb question. However, did you try the suggested steps at the top of this thread and see if that helps you out on the PC?

Apparently, this isn’t the first time this has happened.

Any updates at all? I LOVE this game and only just got into it, so being entirely unable to actively coordinate and banter is a huge bummer. Weeks without voice chat is abnormal.

The fact that this game is still crashing constantly every day on xbox for half a year, ontop of the fact that now voice chat just doesnt work at all is insane. This game is beyond insufferable and if there was anything else on xbox worth playing I wouldnt be playing darktide at all for obvious reasons. Its to the point where i feel like a total masochist playing this game every day.

Any news on this? I’ve used voice chat quite a lot actually. Will it be fixed on PS5 port release? Typing on a console is not really a good option.
