We are aware of an issue for PlayStation 5 only - which can result in a “Teammate unavailable for matchmaking” error after completing a mission, preventing further matchmaking unless Darktide is closed and restarted.
We’re investigating the issue. In the meantime, as a workaround, disabling crossplay appears to resolve this error.

Matchmaking
After completing a mission, and returning to the mission selection, I cannot start any new mission as there is a red box with “Teammate is not available for matchmaking” where the begin button should be.
I’ve tried logging out, opening the training, opening the store, nothing other than completely closing the game and restarting it works, which gets old really quickly…

Is there anything I can do so that I can play more than one mission per game without having to competent exit and restart?

Sorry to hear that. The last time I saw reports of “Teammate not available for matchmaking” errors, it was widespread and caused by a PlayStation Network outage.
That said, there doesn’t appear to be an outage reported currently, but we’ll monitor.
Curious, when did this issue first start occurring for you?
I’ve only had the game since it joined this month’s ps+ lineup…
It’s been consistent, happening I think every time I’ve tried to play a second mission. If I do manage to get a second mission started I’ll let you know!
Actually, I think I had 1 today where I could start a new mission after failing the current mission… but it seems after a successful mission, I can’t start the next.
I don’t think it’s related to playstation network as I was able to complete several helldivers 2 missions before and after playing darktide.
The ps5 is connected by ethernet cable - my internet is via 5g mobile broadband. I don’t seem to have any issues with other online games.
I’m still having issues where I have to completely close the game and start it again after practically every round.
Today it’s been after every round. The other day I was amazed when I got 2 rounds in before having to close.
It’s really frustrating not to be able to keep playing, is there anything I can do?
I’ve tried going to the training room, opening the store, briefly closing my internet connection, but nothing works.

As a workaround, other players have had success resolving this error by disabling crossplay. Please can you try disabling this and let me know?

I have restarted and rebooted my ps5 several times and all I get is “Teammate Unavailable For Matchmaking” . Like I reinstalled it and now I can’t play the game . I can’t pick missions , quick play and cant use chat

Im having the same issue, after 1 game, I get the same red message. The game is unplayable in this state
This issue is unrelated to Darktide, it seems. Playstation services are currently experiencing issues regarding account information which could be causing it. If the issue persists after the problem is resolved on Playstation’s end, someone from Fatshark will have to help with this most likely.

It appears that PlayStation Network encountered a temporary outage and some disruption in the past 24 hours, which is likely the cause of the error “Teammate is not available for matchmaking”.
We believe that the PlayStation network issues should now have subsided, and we’re continuing to monitor. If you’re still unable to matchmake correctly, then please let us know!

Curious, is this error happening 100% of the time? and is the error occurring when trying to matchmake into any mission; or, is this only occurring for a specific game mode?
Hey so I wrote a report about that as well and I believe I figured it out, I turned off crossplay and it never happened again it’s unfortunate but at least you won’t have to restart the game every single time just to play another round

I was having the same issue on PS5 after every game. I switched crossplay off and it seems to have fixed it. I’m just worried about slower match times now, but at least I don’t have to restart the game every time just to find a match.

Im a new player on PS5 and have been playing religiously for the past 2 months with my friends. I have had the misfortune of running into an error with a near 50% chance to appear and my friends have already abandoned the game with frustration.
On occasion me or we will start up a match, finish the match and try to play another immediately after and there will be this notification saying “teammate is not available for matching,” preventing me from starting another match despite everyone being ready and not on any other menus or such. The error does not go away until the person in the group (closes the game) this is the only solution to this problem and it happens so often, im afraid the game has just become unplayable for some of my friends.
Note: when in a group, we have found that the person with “Loading” below their name is the person with the error and that person will need to close the game before the error message goes away.
Please look into this, I love this game, and would be over the moon to see Darktide flourish.

Good news- Turn off cross-play this will stop the bug indefinitely
Bad news- you won’t be able to play with pc players

New player to this game by the way, I played this game for maybe 3 days on PlayStation 5 I got it for free because of the monthly free games and I’m really loving the game especially the Commodore’s vestures. The problem I have is trying to get into another game after I had already played, this message pops up every time “teammate is not available for matchmaking” I found a solution but that requires me to restart the game which takes away the fun and could potentially discourage new players from enjoying this awesome game.

Edit: update, by turning off cross-play your able to stop the bug indefinitely but you won’t be able to play with other console and pc players it’s not super unfortunate at least you’ll be able to join right after a round
1: play a round, doesn’t matter if you lose or win
2: wait till you respawn at the hub center
3: go to mission terminal after every round a message will pop up “ teammate is not available for matchmaking” forcing you to restart the game
