KNOWN ISSUE: Crashing at Random, Due to GPU-Related Errors

I mean it just resets your GPU clocks to reference settings, sounds like your system is just borked.

Oh really!!! … I have a MSI 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID 24G - that plays this game at 63 degrees C - is that overheating my brother? Your source is smoking colgate.

Less crashes, but still there. Additional the disconnection laggs and real disconnects ae getting worse.

So often i just run automatically straight into a group of enemies, deamonhost etc. and can’t do anything. Sometimes i get control back and the other times it disconnects to operator menu.
I can see all enemy actions its just me who cant move, cant block, cant shoot, cant do anything.
Thats so frustrating.

P.S.: Does anyone know why there are so many entries like this in the logs?

just google ā€œ4090 crashes in gamesā€. It is no so rare for other games too crashing on 4090. Modern gpus have its own flaws too sometimes. Like melting 4090 (did you check your power connectors) or burning hynix vram chips on all 3060ti. May be it is a driver mess problem after installing new gpu like i posted earlier. May DDU will help.

Exactly!
I’ve 2 systems, one a 4090 & the other a 3090 and temps are completely stable on both.
People just love being sheep & spreading false information.

checked your crashlog @GeneralFirehold. Same DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error. Check my post above for possible solutions.

You do realise the entire melting gpu connectors was blown out of proportion by youtubers who don’t have a clue like ā€œjayztwobraincellsā€.
The melting cables was extremely rare and due to a mix of user errors by not placing the cables in correctly and dirt/dust or whatever you want to call it getting in the cable at the same time.

LOL

You are clueless. Just stop commenting already.

I’ve got a 4090 as well, and it never breaks 65 degrees C playing any game I’ve got on my system. My system is rock solid and I don’t crash in any other games.

This game on the other hand is a crash happy, unfinished early access dumpster fire of software.

Yes, I am aware of DDU and I’m fully aware that we shouldn’t have to be troubleshooting our systems for something we have purchased.

Over 1,200 business hours have lapsed since this issue was identified and Fatshark have chosen to release this title from executive peer pressure and now they are seeing the results - which is the exact opposite of how a business should be ran. You see, the executives are on holiday and taken an early xmas break, meanwhile the team responsible for picking up their trash decisions are working their ass off to make this title right. So go figure - who are the ones drinking their cocktails!

Thanks, but like I mentioned… I have played this on AMD and Nvidia. Its game code not the GPU.

Nice try, but I don’t have that type of crash happening. None of my other games crash. It is not specifically related to my hardware necessarily, it’s the game.

He has no clue. No idea what he’s talking about. He doesn’t understand that gpu device hung is a pretty generic error code. After being laughed out of the thread for being a fool, he tries to save face by providing all kinds of generic crash google searches and specific cases for specific cards that were solved years ago, or dumb stuff like a burned connector which would not result in just a single game crashing.

He doesn’t make things better for himself either by taking the basic stance of ā€œI don’t crash, therefore there is no problem and no one is crashing, except through fault of their own.ā€

This is not that helpful, as this is most likely not the problem for most of us. Of course, I can only speak for myself, and I can say with 99% certainty that it’s the games fault in my case. One of the other games I am playing at the moment is Cyberpunk 2077. Which pushes my GPU to the max. I am monitoring both CPU and GPU through Rainmeter on my second monitor, and Cyberpunk often pushes both to near 100% usage. Temperature is of course also higher because of that. No issues. I have played for hours without anything happening.

With Darktide I have barely seen the GPU usage above 60% before it crashes. Temperature way lower than while I am playing something like Cyberpunk. So no, this is problems with the game code most likely.

I broke and did lower my max FPS to just under 60 last week, just to at least be able to play a couple of matches with my brothers. They have little time to play, so I only got to play three matches spread over two days. Luckily no crashes. But I am sure that if I raise the FPS cap it will start crashing again. I haven’t even tried with this newest patch, seeing how people in this thread still got issues. I got better things to do and other games to play, not going to waste my time playing something that most likely will crash on me and make me lose all the progress I made that day.
