seriusly?are we gonna get paid for sending you info and testing your workarounds?you do realise that we are doing your work now correct?
this is happening since beta.game is unplayable.
its the only game i have issues.
i am getting this from windows log:
The description for Event ID 0 from source nvlddmkm cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
Best thing of all is, if you go through the error logs. the crash error remains the same. It occured in the beta, it occured in their experimental versions and its occuring now all the time with the exact same error and crash messages.
So basically i paid 60 ⬠for nothing. I could not really play the beta, okay its beta. But since release i have more time in the startup videos/character select screen than actual ingame cause of constant crash->restart cycle, its so f*ck**g annoying.
5 missions without crashes with experimental branch (although I also updated windows 11 to 22623.1020 and deleted shader cache files before changing darktide version to experimental). Then crashed in Mourningstar between missions.

I should not have to put a bandaid on the game to make it work.
The only mission I managed to almost play through during the pre-order beta was when I limited frames to 60. It crashed at the end. So limiting frames will not make the crashes stop anyway, might at best just delay them.
If this crash happens from 60+ framerates (which it seems to be as the only āfixā people have found to work some of the time is limiting frames either directly or indirectly by using less cores etc) then that is a datapoint they can use to figure out what causes the crash. I am not going to play with a guaranteed crash looming over me while at the same time having subpar framerate.
Edit: Realized I sounded very combative here, sorry about that. You are right in that lowering framerate should work, so I was wrong in basically snapping at you.
What I am going to try after dinner is deleting the shader cache. I did not do that after installing the experimental patch, so hopefully I get the same crash free result as Frirr.
I was initially excited as I was able to get my test character through the post-prologue cutscene without crashing for the first time with worker threads > 1, but I got a crash in a mission immediately after. And it doesnāt seem like reconnecting works anymore? I havenāt gotten the option from crashes in the last few days (though I havenāt been playing as much).
This was also after deleting shader cache and setting threaded_streamer to false, I did all three at once which is not ideal troubleshooting behaviour but itās still happening with the same error soā¦
Meanwhile no updates for the gamepass version? I tried everything, including each one of the 14 options for worker threads (ryzen 2700) and still random crashes, at this point iāll wait for hotfixes to drop on the game pass version of the game,i hope to not loose interest while waiting :\
My setup:
Windows 11 (Build 22621)
RTX 2080 SUPER
Ryzen 5 3600
Tried the experimental build, it didnāt fix the problem but it might have made things a bit better, idkā¦
For people struggling with crashes mid game, I recommend capping framerates at 60fps, and maybe turn graphic settings to the lowest possible. After capping my framerates, I went from 5 crashes per game to 0-2 crashes per game
