I have nothing new to say, but I am also just sick of this rotating store. You would think after so long Fatshark would’ve changed it at least a little bit, but all they’ve done that I can remember is remove the timer (that still exists in the background) and slowly raise the prices since release.
Weird to think about in an abstract that problems have been designed into place.
Pretty sad that everything has to be manipulative and horrible.
i had more sympathy if most people who are fed up with such manipulation actually would abstain from buying if the new sweet flavor of the month drops
100%. I carry some resentment because every time people complain they also admit to buying. Part of the problem unfortunately.
I say resentment but i’m not actually really upset, because at the very least it means the game is getting funded so the ultimate outcome isn’t the worst it could be. Just sucks because of the business practices it encourages
I think this is a technical debt for them that limits the shop…that and the FotM “abuse” ofc
I guess this is irony…
I think that a lot buys their cosmetics (I boycotted them a lot of time but ceased to do it). They won’t change it cause it works as intended.
Tbh, this won’t forbid me to sleep… I have plenty of cosmetics…
i read that as “im weak”
I swore off the shop after seeing how they butchered the sanctioned psyker outfit. Haven’t bought anything still.
The sanctioned psyker outfit was fine with me, but the “Tallarn” (calling it a Tallarn outfit is an insult to the regiment) was murdered, flayed, and dragged behind a shed and put down.
I choose my fights. You know, I could stop to play the game if Dune awakening is good (chances are as low as 10%, but still it could as for me Dune universe is way above WH40k universe).
Why should I stop buying that I want if everybody buys cosmetics? I cannot change that alone, and there is no general move.
So, I buy what I want. I don’t buy what I feel ugly… nothing will change with our actual community.
“Why shouldn’t i if everyone does it”,
it is a weak mentality I’m sorry, you’re basing your actions not on your principles but on what others do…
Compromising on your principles is equivalent with weakness.
You can buy what you want, it’s your money.
Are you young? You may have principles on this, I never said I had such principles.
I just say that if everybody had ceased to buy cosmetics during 5 months like I did, we would have seen big changes to the store.
See, there are things actually that matters a lot more than… a cosmetic shop in a game (things that have no place in a video game forum).
I keep my principles for what it matters… not things as futile as is this one.
you think maturity is only about age?
you mentioned you had a boycott going on and then you explained you stopped because “others”, and you said you couldn’t “change” how things are.
Implying you’d like them to change, so naturally I assumed you want change and be willing to impose restrictions based on your dissatisfaction, something a principled person would do
well that is an “argument from futility”, everything in life starts with yourself.
well, you can say that about everything, you’ll always find something a bit more important.
but as you said this a forum we are discussing benign things you’re welcome to completely ignore anything I say.
I assume this is a language barrier type thing, as that is somewhat of an oxymoron.
Look you might think I meant my comments as an insult, but that’s not the case, and I know that someone especially on the internet saying something vaguely aggressive is met with defense, somewhat of a strategic provocation, I apologize.
But what I’m really trying here is for you to own your beliefs.
Nothing wrong saying that you “like cosmetics and that is why you buy them” for example
or just saying that you like change but aren’t willing to abstain for it.
I’m fully aware that I’m part of many problems that I’m doing absolutely nothing to improve.
No need to apologize.
You just expressed what you feel… I did not feel insulted, and did not wish to attack you.
I just express also my feeling. Community could have changed that store… but it won’t happen.
When you realize that, there is not reason to continue something that will have absolutely 0 impact.
I buy what I want and don’t buy what I dislike. And if there is a better game than what Fatshark propose, I would immediately switch to this game… cause I don’t like how Fathsark does business.
Prices increase, FOMO, consumers not listened at all, recolors…
I can assure you that if someone creates a game similar to what we have actually that is promising, I would go to support it. Just cause I don’t like how Fatshark spits on our faces… to not say more.
Sorry… I consider a game less important than the possibility of the world war III.
I said “I boycotted” them. In other words, I have not bought from their store during 5 months.
There was never a boycott operation…
I said that cause I had such principles… 25 years ago.
So if you’re young, I can understand your stance better…
Hahaha, we were saying this from DAY ONE.
Stupid managers at Fatshark won’t listen, because according to them, having too many pages of choice will “cause confusion”.
Yeah, like I’ve never been in a Dollar Store, or a supermarket before. I think humans can infact handle looking at lists or even large PILES of objects. But no, Fatshark thinks were stupid.
Because the REAL reason, is that having a limited choice, on a short timer, creates a sense of urgency and forces the customer to consider buying something they otherwise wouldn’t, out of desperation or boredom.
@FatsharkStrawHat Can we please stop this? Can we maybe have the management start treating us with respect? We’re not just wallets.
Honestly I’m somewhat happy they decided to introduce the FOMO store, because that was truly the eye opener for me that prompted me to look behind the facade more, before that i was somewhat of a fanboy of fatsharks excusing thing that shouldn’t happen, heart in the right place n all.
same with the fake currency, easier transactions around the globe, what a copout, especially with steam providing easy currency conversion.
They think we can…
Look our inventory UI. That’s a mess, impossible to manage the weapons…
This is just b…t… excuses as always.
That’s why I think they spit on our faces.
This is a known issue and a very, very common complaint. It doesn’t really “rotate” bi-weekly either. The store shows pages for “now / 2 weeks ago / 4 weeks ago”. And most of the bi-weekly refreshes add something new or a recolor of something old. So every 2 weeks since release the backlog has been getting larger and larger, and the problem worse.
Right now you have a ~50% chance or so to maybe see at least something from the old catalogue every 2 months… and when that happens there’s a less than 1/50 chance for that something to be the thing you actually wanted. In MMO terms: <1% drop chance every 2 months. ![]()
I’m sorry but realistically you might as well accept it’s not gonna happen. Not until they rework the system.
Always reminds me of that one quote. Something like “Don’t worry, the item you want will most likely come back”, written by the CM at the time. It’s phrased in such a reassuring way, but the actual message is “it might also never come back though” because FOMO is the point
