Just add Skitarii already

Seriously, fats. Stop messing around.

Give us servoarms and shoulder turrets for amazing gunplay. Give us blessing of the Omnissiah.

The only alternative I could think of as a possibility was an Assassin class such as from the TTG Dark Heresy, but of the class advancements for Assassins, one is gender-locked, one requires the player character to be a Pariah (more rare than a psychic unicorn), or the Eversor or the Vindicare which idk how they’d do (maybe they’d make the Exitus rifle the Blitz???).

I am with you: I would love to play as a barely-still-human Skitarii, or hell even a Gun Servitor would be neato; hell, it’d make sense too, we literally see one of the Cosmetic sellers get turned into one!

I just want a playable class that represents the Mechanicum.

Addendum because I just had a thought:

On the tabletop, a lot of Mechanicum units seem geared towards deploying on sand dunes, maybe the release of the Skitarii could coincide with a mission of us deploying to the desert to attack the '“Demon of the Sands?”

The only accessible advance that the Assassin class can get is Vindicare. You don’t really have any rules for any of the other Officio Assassins.

And only accessible through the Ascension mechanics.

There is also Adept and Sisters (Blood of Martyr; Inquisitor’s Handbook).

Personally I’m hoping for a low ranking Tech-Adept, Tech-Priest or Enginseer.

I don’t expect we’ll ever get Skitarii, for the same reason we don’t have actual Stormtroopers or Hotshot/Hellgun weapons, and have Necromunda-esque Zealots instead of power-armored Sororitas. Skitarii are something of a higher level combatant than really the game is built around, with more exotic gear than we have in game for the most part.

That said, I’d love to see an AdMech class of some sort, a tech-adept support class or something could be super rad.

Would a Kroot Mercenary fit into the lore of this scenario? I’d be totally down for that.

In theory? Sure, say the planetary governor hires outside mercenaries to help contain the spreading rebellion growing beyond the means of the local Imperial forces to contain? Inquisitor wants some cannon-fodder that doesn’t have pre-existing planetary or cultural connections? That sounds like the sort of thing Kroot Mercs could be involved in. It could be made to work.

I am half way through writing this, I am so sorry for the rambling nature of my input:

Storm Troopers operate on missions of a level of expertise similar to that of the Arbitrators, they are just military-oriented. Arbitrators may be more common than modernaday SWAT officers, but they also receive that same training. Someone mentioned that some of the Rejects could have ended up being (well) rejected and turned into Skitarii or Gun Servitors which would make more sense and introduce them as player characters in this scenario with less strings attached.

Having said all of that, I use the Recon Lasrifle extensively because gods know how badly I want a good ol’ fashioned Hellgun! (More like Hellfun!!)

People are already inventing the class on their own. Fatshark is leaving money on the table with this one.
