Its Over. Fatshark failed-

I’m shocked at what Fatshark is doing but I want to say something Fatshark here one last time before I move on.

For over a year the community has been telling you that your crafting system should be changed. However, we are still waiting. You can’t even remove the locks from the blessings and perks, which is just EMBARRASSING. You don’t publish much content, you have to wait months until a new weapon or a new map comes out. The performance of the game is just terrible, even with an i5 12600K and an RX 7700 XT the game runs like *****. Your game still has fps drops and stuttering problems.

You get the feeling that you don’t care about your community and are only doing the bare minimum to keep your game alive.

I love the game and I would like to continue playing it, but Fatshark makes me so mad that I just don’t want to play it anymore.

In the end, only the least hardcore fans will play your game. Most of your community has already left and you absolutely deserve it!

Your community kept telling you what was wanted but you didn’t give a **** what we said.

I will always remember “Fatshark” but negatively. I won’t buy a single game from you anymore because you don’t give a **** about your players. All you care about is money.

Thank you for reading. Take care.

I’m like 90% sure they’ve got the majority of dev resources on Vermintide. Because that’s the only thing that explains the total lack of content.

I am 100% confident they did not fail. DT is still the game I love, even after playing a lot HD2.
But, I am also 150% confident that they are stupids and could get a lot more money if they were not so dumb…

I will quote only few things:

  • the game is unfriendly for casual players (so they loose lot of customers)
  • the crafting system is too much based on frustration
  • the UI is ugly and they should really take example of what has been made by mods
  • they take too much time between every content release
  • cosmetics system is really bad (recolors, no freedom)
  • cosmetics prices… dumb

But… even with all this, nothing can replace this game…

Core gameplay is all. Love to cut heretics, love rips their limbs, love to put my knife between their eyes, love to let my teammates die…whoops

Look none of us are loving how long this is taking, but I still think it’s a bit early to call doom and gloom. Class rework had issues but was overall a huge improvement to the game. It’s not unreasonable to still hope itemisation update will be a big change for the better.

Of course if we wait this whole time and they still somehow fumble the itemisation update I ain’t gonna blame anyone for going full doom and gloom.

Yes, but keep in mind some of us expiriencing such attitude since V2 and V1 even. I’m with OP. Probably gonna lurk on the forum a bit for a few days and move on. There always will be players still who stick to DT no matter what, even if FS CEO will come out and say it loud and clear “we hate you, suck it”

I have always said that, when a game becomes so frustrating that you cannot continue playing it, you should leave and play an other game.
Nothing wrong with this. Even more, I can say I have just did that.

I played one month HD2 every days. And now, I return to DT with a great pleasure but with a different feeling. I don’t care now of everything around the missions. I still loot everything, but not for materials, just cause looting is fun as nobody does it and that it requires you to go alone and take risks. This gives me lot of fun.

I also play an other game (I am playing Ghost of Tsushima that I never played before, and must admit I take fun on it). Having a second game you play is also something good to not be bored too fast with one game.

You should never force you to play a game.

I am not sure why Fatshark is so against listening to the community and turning the game into the piece of gaming awesomeness it deserves to be.

Ego from management, probably. It’s the only thing that explains the sheer stubbornness.

It’s because Fatshark thinks they know better than the people who actually spend thousands of hours playing their games whilst investing every bit of energy in learning about the games; meanwhile Fatshark, as has been confirmed multiple times, doesn’t even play their own game as is evidenced by the tone deaf out of touch changes they pass.

Hope you find what youre looking for!

Id laugh, then apologize for being so blind. But i would bet my retirement FS wouldnt do thatthis wont happen.

yeah, i really wonder what fatshark’s problem is. it’s not like removing at least one of the locks on crafted gear would require some rebuilding of the entire engine from the ground up lol they’re so married to the idea of wasting people’s time and it’s like they’re too stubborn to admit that their crafting system is a failure well over a year into the game’s life cycle.

i really hope whatever the update is on the 25th is super great because space marine 2 is around the corner, and from the looks of it, it has everything checked off on my wish list. it’s like saber looked at fatshark and basically just said, “do the complete opposite of that and we’ll be good”.

No… But this would be a move to say, we abandon the game, do whatever you want until we drop the server.

Seriously, removing lock like that is saying all what is around missions is useless. I don’t like what they did, but maybe you could imagine what would be a game without anything around the missions.
Everybody would say that it looks like a beta. And they would be right.

Fatshark doesn’t care. Selling skins is their business at this point and i’m assuming business is pretty good.

I haven’t played since Jan-Feb but I still read the news and I came to the same conclusions. There is nothing to do in this game, zero end game horizon and no hope in sight for FS to use the infinite lore of Wh40k in the FPS we used to love.

FS as an entity has no passion for Wh40k.
They are a mediocre studio with clueless management, and they seem to be fine with this.

Their lack of roadmap and com makes zero sense from a managerial standpoint and I simply hope one day, competition will pick up on their mistake and make tons of profit.

They have a roadmap. Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - What’s coming up in Darktide? - Steam News

They’ve also communicated when things change:

They delivered on what they promised in said roadmap so far through their numerous hotfixes and patches, and also with :

This is factually incorrect.

You cannot call that a roadmap… sorry

Minimal communication when they should maximize it. Tell me what will be this update! Nobody knows.

Yeah… patch note.

Problem of fatshark is that they don’t communicate or when they do, they communicate really bad.
Also, they tend to slow content release…

Anyways, I wait for this patch. But they seriously are really bad in business.

Further adding to the answers already here, a roadmap is a video game developer’s way of letting players know planned content down the road .

But communication it remains.

Probably because their game seems to be more complex than either of DRG or HD2.
