The turtle was the best thing about that film

That doesn’t say “changed their plans”, it says “make some changes”.

Just tempering people’s expectations. Don’t expect anything huge. It’ll almost certainly just be rounding off some of the sharp bits.

So… the CM for Darktide is active everywhere…

Except the actual Fatshark forums.

I mean, Fatshark is really good at going from a disappointment to the other.

That was from Discord.

Did they not anticipate how many loyal Warhammer 40k fans out there within the world? On top of the Vermintide 2 veterans who had some glimmer of Fatshark redeeming themselves for what they have done in the past?

Haha Ray Winston’s accent in the film is so funny.

“I am Beowulf and I have come to kill your monstah”

That monster’s name is Grendel.
Our inquisitor’s name is Grendyl.
Our inquisitor has only been shown through a hologram that changed appearances and voices, suggesting they want to hide their true nature.

Are there dots to connect here or am I having a schizo moment?

Holy s**t. Grendyl is Keyser Soze!

Yes, V2 dropped in a bad state. Yes, Fatshark eventually fixed V2 into the awesome game it is today.

HOWEVER.

That gives them no excuse why Darktide should be as bad, or worse, than V2 was at release. You’re supposed to learn from past mistakes in order to not repeat them.

I just hope the feedback they are looking at will make game better and not “winds of magic” better

A Chaos Wastes moment would be somewhat of a miracle, but most welcome.

I’m not talking about that kind of game mode, but it’s only with Chaos Wastes and the Drachnefels maps (as far as I can remember) that they pleasantly surprised a majority of the community. So technically they started going in the right direction during the later part of the VT2 dev. cycle. It’s a shame they spent 2 years going downhill before that though :person_shrugging: :man_shrugging: :woman_shrugging:

WoM had some great stuff in there. It had multiple features that people are crying out for for DT.

  • Solo play, or runs geared for any number of teammates.
  • A great gear system.
  • Clear and tangible progress with well-defined end goals.

If weaves and athanor were added to DT I’d play it forever.

Shame that beastmen were implemented so horribly and stayed that way for so long.

Also, locking a difficulty behind DLC was so completely braindead that it actually killed the game in my region.

Anticipate? They COUNTED on them.
I mean, why wouldn’t you? Along with whatever WoTC puts out these days, WH40K is one of the most cash-grabby IPs out there.
Make a pile of garbage, stick a 40K label on it and sell it to people telling them they are funding “golden skulls for the iron throne”, and it will sell.

I liked Winds of Magic :frowning:

Or to be precise, I liked the weave gameplay. I also preferred the loot system to the original one but I didn’t like that we had two sets of gear.

i fully agree and i never expected anything else.
To soothe the players i can imagine they additionally come up with some surprise that will sound good and to some degree is what players asked for but like you said wont change it sinificantly like wht EA did with Battlefront when they removed lootboxes etc.
I mean removing all the RNG and rework the progression to something else cannot be done in some weeks and therefore they have not many choices to calm the waves.

They can surprise us with complete crafting and rework it the way you dont rely that much on rng, but give us more freedom to work for the weapons with modificators, perks and blessings we’d like to use. To me this would be the best thing they can do and please many players as you would have some comprehensible progression you can play for and torwards.

The main problem with the WoM was that it is stuck in VT2 as a completely separate game with its own mechanics. It also had its own design issues, especially with matchmaking. I hate(d) it bitterly, despite the lovely levels, so I haven’t touched it since beta.

No they can’t. They specifically said that they aren’t going to look into fixes for the RNG until they’re done with crafting which is already 3 weeks delayed now - likely because it was overall negatively received - people were warned that refining wouldn’t solve a damn thing - but so many were like “Nooooo! It’s the saving grace”. So, we’re looking at least 4 to 6 additional months before we have a new viable item progression system.
'Cos they’ll need to discuss options - that’s a good month or so of mulling over options… Then you got making said options which is another good 2-3 months… And then testing that it actually works which is another 1 - 2 months.

At best they can surprise us with rerolling all perks and letting us redo both blessings, but that doesn’t fix anything… It mitigates it a wee tad, but the issue at hand is the rng store, not the crafting.
